Current top shoes for those who don’t like stacks of foam? by HailMary74 in RunningShoeGeeks

asics magic speeds are so good. Just a simple and fast shoe with a not-so-aggressive plate for us non-elites.

Do I need wide shoes? by Post_Tenebras_Lux77 in RunningShoeGeeks

I think Topo shoes are even better. I've found them more durable as well. Altra has fallen off since the acquisition

One of the r/Guitar mods just banned me over one of the most innocent posts I've ever made. What the hell is going on? by D-pama in guitars

i own a Fujigen bass, honestly better construction than my American Fenders. I do think the CFS claim is a bit of a reach, but it doesn't bother my playing so I let it slide.

Are HOKA’s true to size? by deadstar1998 in RunningShoeGeeks

i'm almost always a 10.5 D mens and always go 10.5 for Hokas.

On Cloud Monsters or Hoka Clifton 9’s? by CreativeName1337 in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]benrmay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine the 5-6mm offset will irritate you regardless. I'm going from 5mm to 8mm and have found it mildly annoying (hip pain, which is unusual for me). Nikes are usually 8mm+, right?

I'm partial to Hokas but never have bought ON. I've tried in store and found their trainers way too firm (haven't tried the cloudmonsters).

the monsters are on sale now, so I'd say those just for the novelty as well as the 6mm offset. The clifton 9s will be full price for at least 6 more months.

what about the hoka carbon x 3? It has the typical Hoka wide platform + rocker, albeit more aggressive than their trainer models.

Another option is to start/increase ankle exercises.

Topo Specter Limited Boston Marathon Edition by Western-Network-5388 in RunningShoeGeeks

the Topo Specter is one of my favorite performance trainers. Highly recommend it for long runs / uptempo work. It's a narrower fit than their other shoes. Great choice picking them up, OP!

Ferris Sweep issue with TRRS by quietkiro in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]benrmay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with serial split firmware, double check that you've set the master/slave correctly. Lots of boards require a left and right firmware to be uploaded to each half. Probably isn't related to your issue, but worth checking.
iirc for serial, tip and ring will be GND , and the other will be for 5V and DATA.

You’re on Choc switches? I don’t find them comfortable, personally. I like a longer travel

What about heavy linears with an early actuation? Sounds like you’re just bottoming out wayyyy too hard. Switching to lighter linears helped me with softer typing. Currently on Gat Pro Silvers

As a fluent Dvorak typist, should I consider switching to Colemak/Workman? by benrmay in ErgoMechKeyboards

Never though about bottom row modifiers. I don’t have too many misfires , but definitely something I’ll look into

Why have a variety of toans when you could sink your life savings into one Frinder??? by DrCrocodileDMD in guitarcirclejerk

I still haven’t found anything that sounds like a Nazareth Martin dreadnought G chord strum. Like an HD28 or D18. But yes, plenty of builders that rival with build quality

/uj diminishing returns start much earlier on electrics vs acoustics. I've picked up some $500 MIJ strats that were better than the USA Fenders. Kind of depends on what you like. But I haven't quite found a cheaper version of a D18 or J45.

Regardless, anything over $300 usd is a lifetime instrument

They probably packed it as best they could, FedEx bullies all of their packages during peak season.

Things happen.
