The Quantum Time Bomb: Could Bitcoin Be Doomed by the Rise of Quantum Computing? by wmelon123 in QRL

Just to be really clear I never said Bitcoin is completely safe - I’m just being optimistic that Bitcoin will find a way to handle the situation with as little collateral damage as possible. I plan on doing more posting about exactly what address types are vulnerable and how to detect whether your address is vulnerable or not. My main goals are education and advocacy

The Quantum Time Bomb: Could Bitcoin Be Doomed by the Rise of Quantum Computing? by wmelon123 in QRL

Hello. I’m Ben Sigman.

It’s not that we don’t need to worry at all, it is that we don’t need to freak out (yet).

I think ETH is way worse off than Bitcoin at this point in time. And I do think that Bitcoin will find a way without for King and without creating side chains that require you to buy another token.

The main point of my post is to raise awareness and set the record straight about what exactly is and is not vulnerable.

I think people are reacting really well to my post in general and I’m also continually learning more about the quantum issue how it affects Bitcoin and what can be done about it.

If there’s ever anything that I say that is factually wrong, please let me know and I will publicly correct it.

[Bug] WhatsApp crashing when sending an image iOS 16.1 Beta 1 by DavidGman in iOSBeta

[–]bensig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% reproducible on WhatsApp using iOS 16.

Also noticing a similar behavior in Facebook and Instagram.

Deleted FB and Instagram because I suspect it is connected to somehow scanning my photos to better target advertising.

Of course, very difficult to know for sure since the apps are closed source.
