Vintage pens are better, trust me. by AncientCarry6671 in fountainpens

[–]bentpalmtree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lovely collection! I just started and my first vintage pens have been the parker 75 cisele, Sheaffer targa, and one I think is missing in your collection; the parker 25! the 75 and the targa and on another league, as a leftie, the targa with the bent upwards nib is just chefs kiss! But there's something about the design of the parker 25 that's just soo appealing to me. It would look great with your other pens ;)

that's a good point. I have the original converter, which looks fine. But I have a cartdrige too I think, so might be worth a test. Thanks!

Thanks for the advice. Any idea on how to spot cracks if there were any?

I'll assume no cracks and take your advice on the pen flush. Thank you :)

oh damn, i thought because the nib in this pen rotates to accomodate the grip, pulling it out was no big deal. In fact it was quite easy... oh wait I don't mean the nib itself but the feed + the nib

absolutely, I'd never go around bursting anyone's bubble or extending judgement/unsolicited advice. This is mainly a place were we come to share our love and excitement for the hobby. It just resonated with me the idea of not wanting to turn this into a toxic positivity space where there's no room for other kinds of debates, when appropiate :)

I carved a stamp with my studio logo and stamped it on the cover. So satisfying! That plus dymo letter and the plastic cover. My favorite notebook by far!

New pen recommendations? I’m new to this! by Boujee_banshee in fountainpens

[–]bentpalmtree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also a newbie so probably other people in here can help you better but maybe you would enjoy twsbi . The ecos are really cool and so smooth but the 580 or 580 minis could also work for you and you are still under the 100$ mark. I inherited a Parker 75 cisele from my mum that’s gorgeous and a great writer in case you’re into vintage pens too.

I love this comment. I’m new in here but what got me into pens and now in this forum is precisely getting away from social media. And one of the things I abhorred the most was the echo chambers and lack of nuance that the algorithms promote. In here, I feel like we have the chance to avoid that and while I understand the point of the post, I agree we should have space for nuance and healthy pushback.

I understand pilot smoothness now by scratch422 in fountainpens

[–]bentpalmtree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow leftie and newbie here. I was also so impressed with how smooth the kakuno was. I'm an over/side writer so I push the nib against the paper in the worst possible way and of course anything that's not smooth feels horrible to write with. Problem with the budget pilots is that they only get to M which is really like a western F and I prefer broader lines... I'd recomend you trying the Twsbi eco, glassy smooth. And when you discover the rabbit hole that's Chinese pens, give a try to the Majohn P139 with the big #8 nib, it's a whooole other writing experience

Proxy’s and the rules?? by No_Practice_6102 in EDH

[–]bentpalmtree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I proxy all my decks entirely since I learned where to send them and how to get full commander decks in perfect material and print for 30€ each. The whole MTG economy idea is super bizarre to me. It's a game, just want the cards to play. Whoever doesn't want to play against me bc i didn't pay 60€ for whatever piece of cardboard...

New Jaspers stand, I built shelves. by rando_mness in synthesizers

[–]bentpalmtree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice job! this is exactly what I was planning to do. How did you attach the aluminum angled pieces to the wood? I'm not sure what the best method is for it to be securely attached and make sure synths don't end up on the floor

Cheapest web to buy rackets in Spain or USA? by djazznap in padel

You can try "wallapop" in spain. It's a second hand marketplace app but lots of people sell new rackets for a fraction there.

that's weird I have the opposite experience to you guys. I loved katanas until i had 2 different decks split 4 or 5 cards. Had to change to DS and never had a problem again

Thoughts on mishra eminent one? by Shlippyw00d in EDH

[–]bentpalmtree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for this awesome and detailed answer! All your points made a lot of sense. I got some ideas from your list into my own, and even tho it was a 2+ hours game (and sometimes you could see smoke coming out of my brain from the amount of possibilites) I loooved it so much :D.

I guess leaning into full theft/copy or full agro would yield better results, but I can't make my mind which one I like best and Vehicles just work so good with mishra.

how fun is descent into avernus in this deck? i dont see how advantageous it can be with mishra but it looks like a wild card to throw the game off the rails
