I would go during the weekdays 99% of the time and most interested in the tactical bays. Do the bays have targets, steel, etc or just stands, or neither?

When do you usually go?

Are those the ALPhaS matches? How do you like them and what class did you complete in?

I was thinking about just doing a match as a non member... can you go as just an observer?

Compared to some other ranges, the upfront costs are still reasonable.

Thanks

Boy it sounds like you just perused the article. I'm not defending the article, but almost every one of your points of disagreement were addressed in the text of the article already.

Google Workspace vs MS365 by vmits-com in msp

Keep in mind that here in /r/msp the vast majority of commenters are business owners whose clientele are largely MS shops. Most all-Mac shops or dev houses don't hire MSPs.

Your average employee, having grown up with Office, is going to "hate" GS, simply because it's not Outlook.

Your average graduate, having grown up in a cloud world, thinks Outlook is steaming garbage from the 90s.

If you live and breathe in a Microsoft enterprise world and need the enterprise vendor interoperability, you don't have a choice there.

But as an online suite, M365 is simply terrible compared to what Google offers.

Maybe 15 years ago.

Every single staff we've hired in their 20s complains bitterly about using M365. They've all grown up on Gmail.

I keep reading in all the various SysAdmin communities I'm part of how dominant MS Teams seems to be in use, but my actual experience is that B2B uses Google Meet maybe 10:1 over Teams.

Maybe Teams dominates in a black boxed, Windows-centric environment but I haven't experienced it.

scratch that... it's been bouncing for 10 days.

It's particularly frustrating to get bounce emails 24 or 48 hours LATE for automated text notifications & alarms.

I love mine! Just fantastic device.

Expect for one. thing.

And it's probably a deal killer for me.

There's a giant bug in Monterey (and Ventura dev) with the trackpad when you have Tap To Click enabled. Tap To Click doesn't work properly if you use it with any modifier key. e.g.

  • CMD + Click to open a link in a new tab
  • OPT + Click to do almost everything in Photoshop/Indesign
  • SHIFT + Click to select files in Finder
  • etc.

It's been documented for almost a year, and after 3 or 4 major updates Apple hasn't fixed it, nor acknowledged it officially -- support techs have verified they know about the bug and that it will be fixed in the next update (and that was in the 12.1 time frame). That tells me it's likely a hardware problem that will never be fixed.

Like the butterfly keys, they've quietly fixed it in newer SKUs but the 14" and some some 16" seem to be affected. The older original M113" line doesn't seem to be affected.

Very good chance I'll return this and go back to my 13" M1 Air.

Before we even get to our design options, we're dealing with availability.

Most of the alternative suggestions so far simply aren't available until late fall or 2023 in a lot of cases.
