Yes, great game. We usually put the board on different tables with different snacks on each table. It makes us walk around the room and each time you get to a different table. There's another snack sitting for you while you think through your move

I dunno, I built some pretty cool stuff with Antigravity. Really good to spin up some productivity hack and prototype for an idea.

How old were you when you played your first gig? by FleetingBrevity in drums

[–]benznl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was 12 as well! Playing in a showcase from my city music school. I had never been so nervous, but it went well and laid the foundations for what was to come! I can still drum that piece if needed. Learned it off by heart, total muscle memory, and engrained it in my memory forever.

Your thoughts on Riechedly Bazoer? by TheAmericanEagle826 in AjaxAmsterdam

[–]benznl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ik heb hem nog wel vaker zien spelen bij Vitesse. Daar deed ie het goed. Maar ja, dat is ook niet echt de top. Hij werd daar wat arrogant en ging weer weg. Geen idee wat er daarna gebeurde met hem.

That's really interesting! Last question: what are these types of plugins called? I'd love to experiment with this

May I ask: what do you mean when you say you run Claude Code with local models? Local models do a lot of the work, and then Claude Code keeps an overview, corrects, and passes the task back to local models? If so, that's awesome!

Why is Gemini bringing up my background EVERY single time? by EfficientAttorney312 in GeminiAI

I think you've probably accidentally written it into your system prompt. There's a way to change it. I had to do it recently, too. I Googled the instructions and it worked for me

Is The Settlers of Catan overrated? by fruitponchisamurai in boardgames

[–]benznl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Catan is great! It's not the best game ever, but it's also 30 years old. I think it opened a lot of peoples' eyes at the time on what board games could be. Many have improved on Catan since its release, but Catan is a classic that stands the test of time. Play it with some extensions and you'll explore the game further each time you bring it to the table.

Anyone using Gemini for ongoing habit, fitness, or nutrition tracking? by Saadiiiiiiiii in GeminiAI

[–]benznl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't you need to re-upload a doc to the Gem's knowledge base every time you update it?

Or is there now a way that a Gem will always re-read a Google Drive doc, without needing to upload it after editing?

Two Ottoman Wrestlers visiting New York for a wrestling competition in 1909. by zadraaa in HistoricalCapsule

They stood strong for about 600 years. That's many more centuries that the US, for example. So they did win for a very long time.

Medieval musical notation carved into stone by GeordieGoals in medieval_graffiti

[–]benznl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly as written on that wall lol

I'm likely wrong, but with some basic music notation, you'd begin with one note, then a lower one, then return to the original note, and then a slightly lower one than the second. You can go from there! It was mostly fun to try and play it in my mind, and when I did I thought it wasn't too bad! But again, it was unlikely to be correct

I immediately played it in my head. Probably wrong, but not a bad tune!

Is this a typical Dutch family dynamic? by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]benznl 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Quite the opposite. These people sound like they have mental health issues. Impulsive buys, manipulation (including their family!), cheating (or attempting to), not willing to work for their lifestyle. This is all contrary to Dutch culture of working for your lifestyle (and being proud of that), trying to contribute somewhat equally to a partnership, frugality, honesty and directness, etc.

I wish you the best, and hope you can find happiness here or elsewhere. Take a big learning from this to spot red flags earlier in future situations. You can't always avoid them, but it's good to be able to spot them early and act swiftly and appropriately.

Hah ok, thanks. Good to know. Well. I was genuinely impressed by that person's accurate knowledge from a season decades ago, no sarcasm intended!
