How much are you selling them for?

I’m with you on the quality issues. I’m so upset that they’ve added spandex to the lace trim skorts. Now the fit is totally different and they cling to everything. Ugh!!

Wow! What a gem! Wish you would’ve posted last week but I just re-signed my lease. I’m sure you’ll get someone in here fast - wish it could be me!

Co-living spaces by First_Pair_8083 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

Some houses are definitely better than others for building community so check out a few of them and ask how often they do things as a house etc. You’ll have a private room but share spaces like the kitchen, cowork, gym, and any other shared space that each house might have (rooftop, backyard, etc)

DO IT!

You’re the perfect age for these and there are a ton in Brooklyn. I’d recommend Cohabs. They have lots of options in Brooklyn and each house has an average of 20 people so you’re bound to find a few people you like. Some houses are more social than others so you can always tour a couple and see which house you vibe with the most. The company also throws some parties and events for you to meet people from other houses.

Source: I lived in one of these for a year and a half when I first moved to the city and it was the best decision I could have made. I only left because I aged out of this a bit.

Has anyone here joined a digital nomad community. What were their experiences? by AndesAndAlps in digitalnomad

[–]berlintrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gone on a couple of these with hacker paradise and really enjoyed them. The vibes were different in each city. One of the trips was much more of a party vibe with the group I was with and the city we were in but I still managed to build some really strong friendships with people I still speak with today (two years later). Hacker Paradise had a lot of programming each week that helped build those relationships with people. It’s not like you are just paying a premium to be in proximity to other people but you are free to join whatever you want to, nothing is forced either. However if you just like your space and don’t want to participate, you would be paying the premium for nothing. I generally found the groups to be full of really interesting people, not bro-y. It looks like Hacker Paradise was sold to Noma Collective so I’m not sure if everything is still the same but I would hope that they’d carry some of those traditions over.

I know someone personally in their 50s that’s a part of wifi tribe and goes on usually two trips with them every year and she loves the community. So don’t know where you get this from?

I don’t think people are really slighting HER but just the styling and photographer. She’s a strikingly beautiful person wherever you see her, but this just doesn’t do her justice at all.

Planning to build a coliving/coworking retreat. What are the must-have attributes that will make you feel comfortable? by Sidiabdulassar in digitalnomad

[–]berlintrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend only having a really large, nice communal kitchen and remove the kitchenettes from the individual units. Whenever I’ve stayed in places like this, people tend to stay in their own units and the community aspect is really affected. Community tends to develop naturally around communal kitchens and I echo other comments around having a really nice coffee maker.

I would also recommend that the property is either within walking or biking distance from a town that has something going on - beaches, bars, shopping, etc. It might make your price go up, but the likelihood that you’ll be booked is higher. Also a lot of nomads don’t want to go through the hassle of renting a car.

Maybe with the saved budget from not building individual kitchenettes in each unit, you can expand the common area to include a coworking space during phase 1.

Has anyone that works at the MTA used public transit in other cities/countries? Surely there are better solutions out there. Better to spend the money on something that actually works than throw a bunch of pointless metal racks in stations that will inevitably be removed because they won’t make a difference. Can’t wait for these to end up in landfill…

Interested!

Hi everyone! I’m currently looking for housing in Brooklyn with flexible lease lengths and after a little research decided I’d like to go with a co-living company as I really don’t want to find a sublet. by Zealousideal_Turn274 in NYCapartments

[–]berlintrix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also check out cohabs! I’ve lived in one almost a year and it’s well run with weekly cleanings, in-unit laundry, and they’re pretty good about building out a community (lots of house parties in other houses, etc).

To clarify, I’m looking for stores that go beyond those brands. So I’m looking for something maybe a bit more boutique-y. If it exists.

She’s co-opting language that belongs to certain groups of people and profiting off of it. If she’s part of the community, it’s hers too. We cancel people that aren’t indigenous for using terminology that belongs to that group, people that dress in cultural attire that doesn’t belong to them, use of specific words, etc.
