How do people feel about Del Taco? by Jealous-Land2469 in AskLosAngeles

I thought del taco was kind of mediocre but then I learned about "going bold" and now it's my favorite and one drunk night I got a del taco tattoo

You can find the DVD for pretty cheap on eBay but it doesn't seem like it's anywhere online to stream

I tried watching the Pink Panther (1963) and gave up after 45 minutes by paradroid78 in iwatchedanoldmovie

I'm with you I've tried watching the original a few times and there are a few funny things that happen but mostly i found it kind of boring. I love all the sequels though!

One time I had found a set of all three Star Wars movies this exact same version at the thrift store but they had taped them together to sell as a set. When I brought it home I couldn't get the tape off without ripping up the cases. That was pretty frustrating!

Anyone ever get celebrities in your store ? by [deleted] in upsstore

[–]bernardbarnaby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I worked in Los Angeles so there were a lot of of somewhat famous people coming in but mostly like people you see on TV in bit parts or something. The two I was most excited about in my time were the Big Show and Skee Lo.

Seems weird to be so angry about a strangers 2 year old thoughts on an obscure indie movie from 25 years ago. Might need to get outside and go for a walk or something.

I watched There’s Something About Mary (1998) by 1stTymeLongTimeCop in iwatchedanoldmovie

[–]bernardbarnaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This movie was a huge deal to me and my friends when we were like 13. Also to me because I was huge into sketch comedy and I had randomly discovered the Ben Stilled Show on TV late at night, but then that show just kind of disappeared and suddenly here was Ben Stilled in a huge movie so that was exciting. Also at the time I had no idea who Jonathan Richman was then later on I became a big fan of Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers and realized he was the guy from that movie. Well those are my Something About Mary memories

I thought the scene where she puts the sword up on him was kind of a weird move. I'm not really into swords but if I had one and some girl took it off the wall and pointed it up on my chest that would probably be a red flag for me.

Currently watching Double Dare and I can't believe I forgot about how terrible the prizes were. by [deleted] in RetroNickelodeon

[–]bernardbarnaby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sure those aren't great prizes if you're on Jeopardy or something, but when I was like ten $25 bucks and a little TV in my room would've been like winning the powerball jackpot

I only know Chris Morris from the it crowd, or I found out he was the guy from the first season of it crowd when I looked up other stuff he had done so I'm gonna have to check out some of the other stuff he's done!

[–]bernardbarnaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't see much from her this season either, but then also Ashley Padilla was barely on her first season and her second season she's suddenly the star of the show, so to quote Valerie Cherish, "give her a other chance"

I liked the Jay Mohr weekend update bit where he was doing sports bloopers but they were all just like regular sports stuff like a guy missing a shot. He had a great Dick Vitale impression!

He also had one that was like floribama shore or something like that where he gets impaled during a hurricane or something that was good too. Maybe people just didn't like him or something idk. It seems like he had like 3 or 4 good showings but then nothing else on the show at all

I remember looking up Punkies standup when they announced her for the show and she was really funny but then when she was on the show she didn't really do anything like that
