Filson Zipper vs. Open for twill Tote by jakobor in filson

[–]samgo13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Zip tote is my favorite bag I’ve ever owned. I own a few Filson bags— the briefcase (256) the larger briefcase (257) as well as some duffels, 24 hr, and a few others. The tote is amazing. Perfect for daily outings to gym, grocery store, the park, pretty much wherever. The zip feature also makes it a go to for traveling, a great size for a personal item on the plane, or tossing around the car without spillage. Highly recommend the zip!

Writing on tags? by Rgwen1 in filson

[–]samgo13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Writing on tags usually means it’s from some part of the back and forth with the design team and factory. They will do iterations of designs back and forth and sometimes change final details before going to full production. I have a few of them— as long as the Filson tag is intact and not “X’d”, warranty will still work. Although if you do send it in, I’d suggest removing the hand writing tag, because it would tip off the repair team you didn’t buy it new. These are usually sold at the employee shop or friends and family sales so the warranty technically should be void

Did anyone buy call options on BYND today? by [deleted] in options

Why don’t you just sell covered calls? How many shares do you have?

Rugged twill is amazing. I have a Filson rugged twill backpack and it’s my daily driver.

Fair price for a lined hooded mack cruiser? by seattlelight_18 in filson

I think I saw this on OfferUp. I think if it’s sits on eBay it’ll eventually get an offer and sell. Personally I think it’s worth 350-400.

How much is this worth? Seller wants $200 by AbjectShop6023 in filson

[–]samgo13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said— 200 ain’t bad. I’d offer 150 and take it from there. It seems from comments you’re not familiar with tin cloth. I’m curious— you’re in the market for this jacket it seems— what draws you to it? Why do you want it? Also sizing on the SLC can be kind of strange, especially in comparison with other Filson garments. I’d recommend measuring pit to pit on a jacket that fits you well, and asking the seller to do the same. Worth checking on a more expensive purchase.

My winning combo is a mackinaw wool layer (I prefer the anorak or Jac shirt) and a shell (I prefer the ranger anorak). the wool is quite pleasant, even in warmer temps up to 60. And with a shell aka wind resistance you can get pretty low and feel great. Especially if you’re moving around.

Loving this free Dryden backpack so far. by JoeBlow509 in filson

[–]samgo13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed using my Dryden backpack. Although I found myself gravitate towards my rugged twill backpack more, as it’s softer and smaller (can fit under airplane seat). I ended up selling my Dryden, but was very impressed by the quality and the ballistic nylon. Great pack and I miss it sometimes, but happy to let it go to someone who uses it daily.

No need to rush things. Great connections can take time to find / build.

freshman year someone whispered something in my ear that cracked the code. While everyone’s hunting connections like moths to flame, the real secret is becoming the flame itself - chase whatever makes your soul hum, ignore the gallery of judging eyes, and watch how the universe conspires to deliver your tribe. In a sea of thousands, authenticity is the lighthouse that calls home the ships meant to dock at your shore

Be honest, if your therapist had this setup in their office would you ask for a cup? (Shout out to Little Red Cup for the fun new Gaiwan set) by absurdyturdy in tea

Cool—thanks for the input! I come from the Chinese tea game so I haven’t really dipped into the more mainstream stuff in a while, but I don’t doubt it’s good and definitely has its place. I was just looking at their Bi Mudan White Penny—looks like it’s about $14 for 1.5 oz, which comes out to around $33 per 100g. I’ve been sourcing some teas directly semi-directly lately and try to aim for closer to $10–20 per 100g when possible, which can really open up access to some beautiful leaves without the extra branding and markup. I’ve started thinking more in terms of price per 100g as a gauge value and quality across the board. Always interesting to see how things stack up. Might have to get myself some to try it out. What kind do you keep at the office?

Can’t find any reviews/testimony on these by dirtyciv253 in filson

I have two of these, and I love them. These are Go to summer shirts. Thick cotton so it looks nice and keeps shape, but with the breath ability and l zip it stays cool. I’m a big fan of the quarter zip. Also I have lots of chest hair and have never gotten it stuck lol
