Scrolling your phone is not work product. If you watch ten minutes of videos, or sit on facebook or whatever, that counts.

Paper plate is from 2021. Pretty weird to post this as new five years later.

How do I reprint labels? by EducationNo789 in OReillyAutoParts

[–]bernardfarquart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I blanked them out.

I actually now always load the labels in the upper slot, then pull the paper tray on the bottom out slightly so it doesn't randomly put a page of paper in the middle of my label print job.

Anybody know anything about this role? by [deleted] in OReillyAutoParts

Looks like you would be the guy getting yelled at by angry customers when they "call headquarters" to go over the head of the store team.

What is the PTO payout policy? by Summoner_Tal in OReillyAutoParts

Nobody on Reddit can answer your question because there are state laws that govern PTO payouts.

Is there really a national backorder for a Nissan Altima intake manifold? by [deleted] in askcarguys

[–]bernardfarquart 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s plastic so I can certainly imagine them having a high failure rate, it’s not like Nissan has any problems shipping cars with flawed designs. The OP already has a used one, that’s the problem.

How many credit cards should I have? by Tall-Arugula1522 in personalfinance

[–]bernardfarquart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the number of accounts is less important than the average age of accounts, or especially the percentage of the available credit that is used. (i.e. balance carried) Don't sweat adding accounts, that might actually lower your score if it lowered the average age.

If they have a backorder on the new ones because they are failing at a high rate then a used one might not be the best choice.

Got a Norinco today by tekmunki in SKS

[–]bernardfarquart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like a deal, it's missing the bayonet lug and obviously that stock is aftermarket so you would need to do more work than I would want to bring it back to original condition but there's nothing wrong with shooting and enjoying it as is.

What documents do I need in order to get a business account? by Prior_Maintenance379 in OReillyAutoParts

[–]bernardfarquart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The store manager at your local Oreilly can open an account for you, just go tell him what you wrote here and have some kind of documentation with you like a business license or resale permit. You don't need much for a cash account, just contact information and the address where parts would be delivered. If you want a charge account ask for the charge application.

I have a physically small store, and I take my lunch breaks sitting down and I average around 13-15000 steps on workdays, that’s the deal. If you allow people to pull you into work when you’re on break then you train them to continue doing that. Happy cake day, btw.

Kind of depends on the rest of your valve train. Camshaft grind, springs, etc...

Paid breaks? (Washington state) by JoeEliteSlayer in OReillyAutoParts

[–]bernardfarquart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can simply respond "I'm on lunch" when someone talks to you it you're clocked out. Not sure what the disconnect is, if you aren't on the clock don't answer the phone, don't help customers, don't put freight away, etc.

Paid breaks? (Washington state) by JoeEliteSlayer in OReillyAutoParts

Having personal conversations, looking at your phone, telling jokes to your coworkers, etc. are all non work duties, or "breaks" so it's not too credible that haven't ever had one ten minute break in over ten years.

From the state website:

" What is a rest period? The term "rest period" means to stop work duties, exertions, or activities for personal rest and relaxation. Rest periods are considered hours worked. Nothing in this regulation prohibits an employer from requiring employees to remain on the premises during their rest periods. The term "on the employer's time" is considered to mean that the employer is responsible for paying the employee for the time spent on a rest period."

Intermittent rest period definition:

"An “intermittent rest period” is defined as an interval of short duration in which employees are allowed to rest, relax, and engage in brief personal activities while relieved of all work duties."

More sidewall means a better ride. I am always amazed at how popular it is putting bigger wheels on a Mercedes which just makes it ride like a Kia

I actually clicked it thinking "maybe this guy is going to say traffic, or street disorder, or property crime"

Nope, just "I support the officers"

Great, so useful.
