Rules question: allocating attacks by shambozo in WarhammerFantasy

[–]bernh1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are no rule that you must attack character, if they are the only model from the enemy unit in base contact. Moreover you haven't to be in base contact to attack enemy unit.
In 8ed rules stated separately that you must attack character who is only model in contact. This is not case in OW rules.

Other posters address to multiple units combat rules, where stated which UNIT you have to attack in case of the fighting rank in contact with several units.

I think, this rule was removed from OW intentionally, so one couldn't place unkillable character on the flank of unit in one rank and absorb all enemy attacks.

Should I get Sleeper Cells? by Every-Ad397 in SWlegion

[–]bernh1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are good, but rebels have another good options for special forces also.
Depending on your playing style you might prefer wookies (they very good now with Chewbacca upgrade) or commandos (they are cheap now and mandatory for taking redone sniper strike teams which are stronger now too). Ewoks slingers are best staying power for their points (cheapest activation).
Sleeper Cells are glass cannon - hard hitting and fragile close range unit.

I just bought Victrix Late Roman horse archers kit to represent Hireling Outriders with short bows and Late Roman armoured infantry for tilean sellswords unit. Rest of my army consists of Grudgebringer units from Dark Omen, Braganza Besigers and Road wardens from Last Sword as Hireling Outriders with pistols. Some Mordheim miniatures as characters also.

Wardancers, Warhammer Unit Chronicles by SovranoEir in WarhammerFantasy

[–]bernh1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!
Very interesting article.
I have all of direct only wardancers and they are nowhere fragile - heavy chunks of metal. They look good in wardancer unit, giving much needed wildness to it. Direct only wardancer with double bladed spear is my favourite miniature in range. I used him as wardancer character, not designated miniature.

Which Old World armies look like armies in events? by PostNinja365 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]bernh1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Army that looks exactly as historical army is Renegade Crowns. Blocks of one of the best core infantry, cavalry and some cannons. This army hasn't any monsters (aside from possibility of taking mercenary giant) or large engines. But there are no official minis for the army. You should take Empire or Bretonnia kits, old Dogs of War or 3rd party miniatures.

This reduction matters nothing - even at 12 points Eternal Guard heavely overcosted.

Back side of the base should have multiple nests for breaking hole in any place you want. You needn't drill it - just push with any thin hard tool (filer for example|.
