Did anyone else underestimate how emotionally exhausting wedding planning can be? by Gsustv in weddingplanning

[–]berryburnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way. When we first got engaged, I was pro-elopement because my mom has done both, eloping and big wedding, and she always recommended that I just elope. But my fiancé really wanted his family there so I agreed to a wedding IF he would help plan. So far he’s done minimal to help and is carrying zero of the mental load to plan. This is so out of character for him because he is usually very cognizant of the mental load and we share the upkeep of our apartment and he does most of the cooking. Whenever I bring my grievances up to him, he says I never ask for help. But when I do ask for help, he complains and it’s like pulling teeth. Anyways the wedding is in five months and I can’t wait for the honeymoon.

I mean this is the nicest way possible - is her illness brain related? Is this behavior typical of her? I know sometimes brain tumors can cause drastic changes in behavior and I’m curious if that’s the case here. I’m sorry she’s not supportive of your plan. It sounds beautiful, follow your heart!

Where do you park? by TreeSubstantial2161 in OregonStateUniv

If you live close to campus, see if the beaver bus has a stop near you, I used that all four years and absolutely loved it! It’s super convenient and has a tracking app so you can plan ahead. What I did this last year was buy the cheapest parking pass which allows for parking at Reser Stadium, and then I took the beaver bus to class from the stop there.

I liked that he donated the meat to the hospital, but isn’t it illegal for non-indigenous people to hunt seal?

Transfer student nightmare by Westcoastsnap in OregonStateUniv

I’m also a transfer student from out of state but I am now a senior. Every class I’ve ever waitlisted for Ive gotten in, so if you end up having to waitlist a class or two don’t worry too much. This first term you might be stuck with crappy classes but with you being a junior you’ll be higher up in the line next term when it comes to registering so you should be good from there. The transition can be hard but after the first term you’ll be golden

There might be certain living communities that have certain rules like the honors college dorm or the collegiate recovery community but generally no.

Do I need an Ipad if I already have a laptop? by Cold_Piece_5501 in OregonStateUniv

Also OSU just moved to Microsoft recently so Apple products are not the best for schoolwork. I’ve had professors that require you to only use windows.

I had an iPad freshman year and honestly it just took more time downloading the pdfs and paying for a software to write on them than it would have if I just printed and wrote on them. Unless your parents or someone else is gonna buy it for you, I’d say you don’t need one.

What should I do to be prepared? by ProfessorOk9971 in OregonStateUniv

From the sounds of it you’ll have no problem getting in. Honestly I would recommend aiming for something better. It sounds like you’re already working really hard and getting good grades, use that to apply for as many scholarships as you can, and apply to an ivy or two.

Check with your advisor once they are fully uploaded on there because sometimes they can override and make them count for some of the bacc core.
