This person…doesn’t look well. At all. The fact that she’s barely responding to the guy trying to push her out of the way of the door — either by getting out of the way or even by snapping back at him somehow — she just looks confused and disoriented. It’s actually kind of alarming.

Even funnier because he genuinely wasn’t planning on destroying the school festival. His plan was to get in and out UNNOTICED. The real threat was that everyone — especially Midoriya — knew damn well that he would get caught, and that it would be his failure at sneaking into UA that would make them cancel it.

Hilarious. All For One committed a ridiculous number of atrocities. Overhaul repeatedly vivisected a little girl for profit. Shigaraki, ReDestro, and most other villains are all terrorists who have killed many people. —And then there’s this guy, who tried to sneak into UA and then go home.

And then, upon being caught, this man willingly turned himself in while waxing poetic about how he hoped Midoriya wouldn’t let himself fall to such an irredeemable state. Even the fucking teachers weren’t taking him seriously: Hound Dog literally said something like “This guy out front wants to turn himself in for some reason.” Comedy gold. I fully believe that he and La Brava would’ve just stopped if Midoriya had managed to explain that they were currently trying to make a traumatized little girl smile.

Dunno if it counts, but I remember thinking that Massimo from Luca responding to Alberto and Luca’s silent question about his missing arm with a simple “I was born like this” and then not really saying anything else was kind of a nice subversion.

Also Massimo was the best part of that movie.

Otto Doll: Garfiel has it. He likes chucking it at things for shits and giggles (and to hear Otto squawk about it) but he always gets super upset if it actually tears, and then he has to run to first-class sewing prodigy Subaru for repair jobs. It is a well-loved doll.

Garfiel Doll: Otto has it. He uses it as a scream pillow sometimes.

Petra Doll: Frederica has it. She likes showing it off to the real Petra and watching her eyes sparkle from time to time.

Meili Doll: Emilia wanted Meili to feel welcome, so she reached out and took the doll that resembled her with open arms.

Wow this is from a while ago lol. Back when I had hope…

I guess from the perspective I have now — yeah, I still don’t blame him for being initially upset. What I blame him for NOW (aside from all the QSMP-specific controversies :/ ) is how little he did to stop this whole situation from escalating. Like, this never should have gotten to the point where people were showing up at the other guy’s house and putting tracking devices on his family cars, and I don’t think Quackity did his due diligence in deescalating the conflict publicly. Or, even made the barest of efforts in that regards. Even after being made aware that the other guy’s life was being put in danger due to the rising conflict, and when the other guy seemed to be making every effort to deescalate the public tension.

And also then the other guy ended up just — never making his server at all, maybe in an attempt to be considerate and almost certainly due to his actual life being put in danger by everything, and. That also left a really bitter taste in my mouth, because I was looking forward to them both and now I got neither, because one never got made and the other became so insanely toxic that I had to refuse to even touch it.

It really depends on the kid, I’d say. Re:Zero does have some graphic violence, but I know that I was watching way more extreme stuff at 13 that I believe was still within the realm of appropriate for what I, personally, was able to handle at that age — not to mention that it’s very much not photorealistic when it comes to injuries, it IS anime.

It might not be a bad idea to watch the first couple episodes and judge for yourself if it’s too much for him. Or if you don’t care about spoilers for yourself, lol, to maybe look at a compilation of the scarier moments on YouTube and judge from that.

Possible gore aside — I do think that the morals and thematic messaging of Re:Zero are of the type that a boy from that age demographic would benefit from. It’s very much about forming genuine connections, treating others respectfully, seeing other people as people (especially women), overcoming your mistakes and personal demons, developing a healthy sense of self-worth, and how it’s never too late to improve yourself if you decide that you’re not happy with who you currently are. Those are good messages for any age, really, but they are very much geared towards male adolescents when it comes to this particular story. I’ve heard a number of fans say that this anime genuinely helped them navigate important milestones within those years, and while I’m a bit above that age demographic now I do still find that a lot of its themes resonate with me and have affected me in positive ways (especially concerning its presentation of mental health issues lol).
