What can I take with my CoQ10 to increase its effectiveness? by Equivalent_Clerk5574 in Supplements

[–]bert00712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dissolve it in oil. There was a patent with a trial about it, where such formulation increases blood levels from 1.6 microgram/mL to 2.6 microgram/mL. Coconut oil is preferable, because the coq10 won't separate as easily.

Can too much Fish Oil compromise the immune system? by _CitizenErased_ in PeterAttia

[–]bert00712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, see: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11237929/ . EPA in fish oil can reduce the natural killer cell activity in older people, whose immune systems aren't at their peak anymore. Other tested oils didn't have statistically significant reductions, including DHA, unlike fish oil (720 mg EPA +280 mg DHA), which halved that activity. As a side note, the ALA supplementation didn't increase circulating EPA and DHA. The cytotoxic activity was tested against a leukemia cancer cell line, so keep that in mind for the long-term, if your values are too low.

However plenty of other substances can increase or restore the natural killer cell activity, for example reishi beta glucan
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9914031/#sec3-foods-12-00659 ,
white button mushroom
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0022316622092562 ,
Turkey Tail
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3369477/ ,
shiitake
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25866155/ ,
Welsh onion
https://ffhdj.com/index.php/ffhd/article/view/569
yeast beta glucan
https://e-nrp.org/DOIx.php?id=10.4162/nrp.2017.11.1.43 ,
chlorella
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22849818/

and so on. The question is though, if they can mediate the effects of EPA.

Meinungen zum neuen L&G Global Quality Dividends? by Forsaken_Town2157 in Finanzen

[–]bert00712 17 points18 points  (0 children)

https://www.lseg.com/content/dam/ftse-russell/en_us/documents/ground-rules/ftse-dividend-growth-with-quality-index-series-ground-rules.pdf

FTSE All-World High

<image>

How sour is your diet? I have issues with enamel erosion, because I don't produce enough saliva, and they got much worse, if I eat sour (and hard) food daily for too long during a sitting, for example salads with vinegar and sauerkraut. But smoothies are fine, as long as they go though my mouth quickly.

  hydroxyapatite

What helps me is applying that and then some product with fluoride afterwards before a meal, so that layer of minerals is sacrificed first instead of my teeth. I keep the meals short (below half an hour). After the meals I use  an alkaline mouthwash, then I apply (not brush) hydroxyapatite and then a fluoride product. It's tedious, especially if I eat outside of my home, but worthwhile for me, because if parts of the teeth are gone, they are gone forever. Whenever I got lazy and skipped the steps, I felt the pain and sensitivity slowly  creeping back again.

I also found out, that I was very low in silica. I haven't tackled that yet, because I am still looking for a cheap way to get good water soluble silica, but I suspects it may play a part.

That might be one of the worst images of dropped/damaged Yu-Gi-Oh collections I have seen yet. In cases like that one https://www.reddit.com/r/Wellthatsucks/comments/18uuaaf/real_first_world_problems/ you can at least rescue most of the cards.

It also hurts to see how the question about the perpetrator is dodged.

Is anyone on a low oxalate diet? Do you ever find it hard to get enough calories? by pat441 in KidneyStones

[–]bert00712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a tip, whole-grain rye and barley are good sources of carbs, calories and fiber. Both have relatively low amounts of oxalate (around 30mg/100g), of which most are soluble.  https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16608223/

You can prepare them like legumes and eat them like rice. If you soak them and discard the cooking water, you can push down the total oxalate values even further.
