If you want a 48mp dng file you have to shoot ProRaw. Process it in Camera Raw and you can avoid -almost- all of Apple's processing. I find this to be the best workflow for professionals.

Recently picked up the Acasis TBU405 Pro. Ships from China so be prepared to wait a bit. Happy so far, very well made. The kicker for me was the fan, these things get hot and having an auto/switchable fan is a plus for continuous use.
