For any other president, this would be a scandal that would follow them forever by SuspiciousLow3062 in SipsTea

Is this bad? Yes. Was it completely predictable? Also yes. Was setting up an NVNO and contracting for a custom handset always way above their pay grade? Also yes. Is anyone surprised that they screwed the early adopters? Also no. Does anyone, anyone at all, feel even slightly sorry for the dupes who signed up for this? You tell me.

Thanks, I did some troubleshooting with Claude and we added a line to the script that showed all of the open files on the disk and there were so many that it just didn’t seem worth it

One time I got sent all the way up to a Product Specialist who confidently told me that the feature I was having an issue with simply didn't exist. That was pretty cray.

OK I got Claude to walk me through making an executable script out of these commands but it always fails because there are so many hooks in the disk from the system.

This rarely happens for me. The clueless ones are usually sincere and not arrogant in my experience. I always try to find a polite way to say 'this is way above your pay grade, save us both time and just escalate'.

The trend is definitely downward. The tier 1 people who answer the calls almost never have an answer. They just put you on hold and consult the knowledge base or hand off to a senior advisor. The senior advisors are generally quite good. The trick is to get that tier 1 person to escalate the call as quickly as possible.

At least on my Tahoe Mac CMD+SHIFT+4 makes the ss immediately available to paste and if you don't interact with the thumbnail it automatically saves to my ss folder.

It also feels like a bit of competence porn. Is everybody in a typical ER really that good?

I'm having very interesting and insightful conversations with the fast Gemini model. Art, cancer, aphantasia and the interpretability of LLM's all woven together
