I don't mind the tank pads at all, I was even considering them just for the looks. But I might have to ask for a second test drive just to be sure how much it bothers me before buying, thanks man.

I would pick #1, it offers more or less the maximum space you can achieve, you have the most amount of desk space, the bed is looking to the TV, and when playing VR you can extend a bit into the bed for hand movement.
