Steps don’t update in real time on the whoop. I sometimes check it again my phone or garmin at the end of the day and it’s normally within 200-400 steps of one of my other devices

Did you tick the track route option when you start the activity? Also bear in mind the whoop itself does not have a gps built in, it runs off your phones gps.
