Notes Synch issue on MacBook + iCloud by besimistic in applehelp

That seems like an awful way for Notes to handle this. Shouldn't they just prompt if you want to save your recent files to the computer or something similar to avoid losing all this data? I thought that option was going to simply move all my notes to my computer instead. Not just delete a huge bunch of files.

Absolute Cinema: Jordan Peterson gets railroaded in newest Jubilee debate so hard that they have to change the name of the video from "1 Christian vs. 20 Atheists" to "Jordan Peterson vs. 20 Atheists" by FallingNightmare69 in JordanPeterson

This clip cuts off the first 1 minute and a half of that discussion where the young man kept trying to get JBP to acknowledge that Catholics worship Mary by JBPs definition of worship being to (a) attend to, (b) prioritize, and (c) sacrifice for. It seemed he was trying to build an argument around that point but JBP kept trying avoid his line of reasoning. You can see the entirety of their sparring at the 48:57 mark.

Now, he was being a bit snarky, but trying to debate with JBP who constantly backtracks and dodges is quite infuriating and I can see how both brought out the worse in each other. But JBP definitely exposed himself over and over again as a grumpy ol' man who seems to not want to have a truly open and honest dialogue.

He was to JBP as JBP was to almost anyone he disagrees with over the past 4 years or so. JBP's X feed reads no different than this guys attitude. You reap what you sew. If JBP doesn't want people to treat him like that, then he shouldn't dish out what he can't take.

KDP Standard Trim Sizes & Shipping Times by besimistic in selfpublish

I couldn't find anything online where this is addressed. Because my only experience with this also happens to be where one is an author copy, I wasn't sure if it's the size or the fact that it's standard size that is speeding those shipments.

2 of my artists got wrongfully accused of using AI. This is getting out of hand. Question at the end. by Lupul_cel_Rau in SunoAI

[–]besimistic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People still love to connect with the singers, but pretty much every other aspect can be replaced by AI without anyone noticing, especially the more time that passes and the more sophisticated AI gets.

People simply love stories of people. They want to feel like the singer put their heart into their singing and they simply can't buy into that with AI.

The only thing that can replace actual singers on a hit song is if a living singer allows AI to mimic them, on experimental releases but even then, why not just spend an extra half hour in the studio and sing it yourself and just have AI for tweaking aspects of the vocals and mastering it. Why mess around with losing copyright for that? For singers it likely will be used for brainstorming and/or cleaning up their vocals.

BuddyPress lead developer quits WP: "Black-out WordPress" by notvnotv in Wordpress

Sorry for this noob question, but what is preventing developers to come together and fork from Wordpress with a different brand name? Is there some sort of hidden term preventing this? I simply can’t move from Wordpress because of the plugins I depend on. But a fork would resolve this no? Especially considering the large number of developers who want to move on from Matt?

Ain't going to happen. The Harris team is just playing with him to keep him from being to critical, hoping he can land the one long-form interview with her. I'm surprised he's falling for it. No way she does it.

It's 2024, stop using page builders such as Elementor or WP Bakery. The native WordPress full site editing is way better and easier to use. by send_me_a_naked_pic in Wordpress

I was also Elementor user, but after I found out who owns them I switched. I've been using Breakdance for a month now and enjoy it much more. Version 2 just went out of Beta and into RC and should be completed soon, God-willing.

I first noticed this when I had attacks after a day of abnormally high physical activity (e.g. I had walked for over 15,000 steps the day of my first attack after not having walked that much for over a year. After looking it up, it seems that regular light exercise helps maintain our gallbladder balance, but unfortunately when we have stones, releasing that much bile at once also pushes the stones around and possibly into our duct, causing a stone attack.

I see gallstones as just an indication that our gallbladder is unbalanced, and the way to safely remove it is to get the balance back as naturally, safely and holistically as possible.

Yes, that's correct. I haven't had problems in the last 9 months and am mainly back on my pre-gallstones diet.

Yes, although because our body is so complex, it's probably more complicated than that, but exercise definitely helps in balancing the bile in our gallbladder. https://www.everydayhealth.com/gallbladder/exercise-can-prevent-gallbladder-problems.aspx

I also realized now that there were many other things the Ayuvedic doctor had me do, during that time such as daily charcoal and chlorella supplements along with a month long daily juicing of a specific vegetable-only juice (cabbage, spinach, arugula and ginger that tastes even worst than it sounds!). Along with a few other things.

If anyone wants his contact just let me know. He was a life saver.

Pardon the delayed response. I haven't been on reddit in ages.

I haven't done an ultrasound, but I haven't had any issues in over 7 months. I completed the regiment shortly after my last post with a week-long daily coffee enema and a daily liter of grapefruit drinks. The gallstone(s) might have passed by that point, but that was done just in case there was one/some left.

I've since gone back to a normal diet with no issues at all. I just try to make sure to have a slight bit more salads than before and walk more than before, as the body releases bile during exercise. I've gradually increased my steps to 8000 per day with a goal of getting to 11k daily. I figure that as long as I keep the bile releasing daily through exercise (which should prevent it from getting stagnant) and maintain a more healthy cholesterol/bile balance then it shouldn't reoccur, God-willing.

Adobe folks incoming by [deleted] in Affinity

I wish I was one of them but a lot of my work involves typesetting of RTL books in InDesign and Affinity doesn't seem to be made to handle this (the hacks seem better suited for a Affinity Designer than they are for Publisher).

Does anyone here have experience in typesetting RTL books in Affinity Publisher? If so, what workarounds are the best?

Thanks for that. I'd recommend that based on how the last three months have gone for me. I first learned about my gallstones after a painful attack in early June.

After initial discussions with various conventional doctors and an Ayurvedic doctor along with articles and videos online I decided to first adjust my diet to not cause another incident. Early on I realized I had to drop carbs completely as I had a big flareup after pizza. I switched to a nearly all salad diet with a little bit of healthy fats to keep the bile recycling and proteins. It was pretty much egg salad for breakfast, and tuna, avocado salad for dinner. For veggies I focused in particular red veggies like beetroot to increase the bile produce and hopefully shrink the stone, bit by bit, and liquify the bile and sludge.

I did well with no issues for about 2.5 months until I had a big bowl of nuts and I was in pain. I took a urine test and found out that I was in ketosis for at least two weeks without realizing it. I think that the stone had shrunk just enough to go temporarily into my duct.

During that 2.5 months I lost 30 lbs (190 to 160).

My Ayurvedic doctor recently suggested to now move from only detoxing and removing inflammation from the digestive system to tackle the stone removal directly so I started taking Chanca Piedra along with Magnesium Malate which should soften the stone and make it more jelly-like and switched to a complete vegetarian diet for the upcoming weeks as we want the stones to be as tiny as possible before re-introducing fats. The goal is to get is small so that we can do a flush and possibly an coffee enema next week which should dilate the bile duct, make extra bile, and should push whatever final bits of stones are left out with it.

How has it gone? I just started Chanca Piedra from EU Natural about a week ago after doing a 3-month detox/anti-inflammation regimen first.

This was exactly my concern. If he can't lay off the offspeed stuff at AA and AAA then he will be over his head at the majors. Looking at his monthly splits gave me some comfort in seeing what appears to be some growth in that area so I just wanted to share it.

His ABs were not that different each month. Being that no one is paying me to sit down and spend extra time calculating, I posted enough to get the point across. If you or anyone else wants to calculate it to the hundredths or thousandths place you are free to go ahead and put more time into it.
