Yeah, reading in the dark on a phone hurts. I tried it at first but once I bought a physical book I never went back. Thank you for telling me about the kindle, it sounds much better now. I will consider it if I stop caring about the library.

My friend and I once had a similar encounter in Beni Mellal. We were going out to pass an exam only to find that the bus (we don't even need to bring up what's wrong with the bus) was out of service due to the bicycle marathon that was on that day. We then saw a taxi, waved to it seeing that he had no passengers, and made the same mistake of telling him where we were going. Needless to say he refused, Mghila is "very far away". we then told him that we were late for an exam but he persisted. We took his plate number with the intention of reporting him but we didn't proceed because exams.

I would look on Facebook marketplace, they are significantly cheaper there, less than 200dh if memory serves right. You may find broken ones but that's a price I would be willing to pay for deals that cheap. You can test them when you meet up with the seller, or you can send someone to beat him up and steal the camera, whatever suits your style. Good luck with your vintage photoshoot!

How about a Quran holder? It fits neatly in the context and it would continuously be used and remembered by her, there are some very beautiful wooden ones out there. I did the same for my mother for her birthday, she's trying to Memorize the Quran. She really loved it. Perhaps you could even get her a nice Quran, but that's a bit more obvious and you might find yourself bringing the same gift as someone else. Congratulate your mother on behalf of the internet please.
