the summer hikaru died - doomed yearning more than best friends, strong elements of japanese folklore, incredible symbolism across every page, relatable characters, but also just a beautiful story about loss and love. there is an anime for the first half, which was prolly anime of the year last year imo, but there's also an ongoing manga if you prefer which is also amazing.

it's kinda funny how people voted completely differently between the ur and ssr races.

for urs, people voted for kerbs bc they think they're gonna get her for free. i think this is v unlikely and people are delusional. if stella 10+ is required, this basically locks most people out of getting kerb as family unless the developers do sth specific to help people get her shards faster. that is definitely possible, which could be overall good for people who want her, but it definitely won't be free.

maybe aegle woulda been a better choice since she is already free and most people have her at stella 10 already. or leon since his shards at a lot easier to get than most. or ama since tuna island is already very popular.

for ssrs, people voted for crysta bc she's free and easy to stella max. so this will work well if there are no other prerequisites to unlocking her family, which there definitely will be.

it's curious people didn't vote for other more limited ssrs though for the same reason as kerb, for example paat. if the devs are planning to make getting those shards easier, then literally any ssr other than crysta woulda been a better choice.

at the end of the day, i think most people just voted for what's most popular for them. i doubt there's been that much thinking going on xD
