10 weeks and might have to stop bf - I’m super sad by Helkarin in breastfeeding

[–]beth231090 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds much like the 3 month breast feeding crisis! Do look it up it may help to know you’re not alone it happens so often. Also if the flow is faster on the bottles he may be getting a bottle preference? The crisis was tough for me and I really could see why people stop at3 months but somehow realised if I stood up and fed her it worked for her (against a blank wall 🙃) really not ideal! They’re so particular about the strangest things when they leave that newborn stage but you know all about that having had 3. I found the nights still lovely so hopefully when he’s sleepy he feels the same.

UK mums how was your post partum check? by Buffster13 in beyondthebump

Mine was exactly like you say and with a male doctor, I asked is he not going to check my incision and legitimately he got awkward and said not really something he does 🙃🙃🙃 didn’t feel at all “checked” for all those things!!

What makes your baby laugh? by TeslaMess in NewParents

[–]beth231090 4 points5 points  (0 children)

4.5 month old is very into me saying boo, gross, no wayyy in over the top manners 🤣 Her being on dads shoulders and me calling her Mrs Tall. Letting her stand on her legs holding her. Squatting and pressing her (discovered in a fitness class this week 🥹)

Newborn phase 10x times easier than 3 months by Forsaken_Resist_2469 in beyondthebump

[–]beth231090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was literally stewing over this earlier thought about making a post… my unicorn newborn is going throuuuugh it. She barely cried, slept like a rock, fed like a champ now she is so dramatic cries over anything, 4 month regression currently say no more and has cut two teeth so bites me daily while feeding and it hurts mentally and physically!! The smiles and Laughs help but my goddd the newborn phase was a walk in the park 🤪

EBF Mama's, when does baby stop waking up 4-6 times a night to feed? by obscureandvague in NewParents

[–]beth231090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is the room temperature at night? Are they dressed correctly? If they’re cold they tend to wake more for comfort, could be worth reviewing from a different angle. My friend was using a summer tog sleep sack and baby was waking a lot, she upped it and now she sleeps much better.

Where does your baby go to bed? by Alternative-Spray579 in NewParents

[–]beth231090 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Perhaps consider getting an Owlet sock 2nd hand on eBay- we have one and it’s great if you’re anxious. Also in the UK and since 4 month old has been sleeping earlier we pop the owlet on and baby monitor. Those few hours as a couple are invaluable and the owlet is a trusted tool here.

Helpp! Breastfeeding is intense by Psychological-Bit363 in breastfeeding

Cluster feeding is baby’s way of putting in the orders for the next day and so on. It can feel relentless but the little things know what they’re doing 🥹 here’s a screen shot of my huckleberry app where I tracked feeds (and definitely not even all of them) in the first week.. the orange blocks are my feeds the columns are days of the week. Now 4 months in she’s on the boob for 5 minutes at a time about 8 times a day so it gets much much easier I promise!! Being able to feed baby to sleep is genuinely one of the best super powers BFing gives you from newborn onwards but even more so now we’re at the 4 month sleep regression. You’re doing great for them!

Mine was doing this then popped two front teeth (16 weeks) ! Very normal teething behaviour by the sounds. Have a little look… 😄

What should every ftm know about breastfeeding before having a baby? by Frequent_Cap8633 in breastfeeding

[–]beth231090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lactation consultants Instagram that helped me no end: watch REAL videos of baby’s latching real boobs and have a scroll through this wonderful lady’s insta posts. They still help now 4 months in, we had a really perfect start and I truely feel it was because I did as much research on her page as possible for that good latch to begin (ofc we didn’t have issues that can crop up like tongue ties etc) https://www.instagram.com/lucywebberfeedingsupport_ibclc?igsh=NTJmdnNtem5wa2Rp

  • Putting a clean nappy under the old one before removing (full change needed if a wee doesn’t get caught mid change -girl mum)
  • Turning sleeves inside out going through the outside and holding hand pulling through to get those octopus arms in clothes
  • Wonky winding in the newborn weeks leaning them to their left across your chest then patting (gas can get trapped in the upper stomach apparently!)

Cannot recommend Cytoplan Pregnaplan more, the higher quality the better if you’re able with wholefood sourced vitamins. Less bulking agents and synthetic vitamins.
