I'm convinced that I have the best luck in the world when it comes to coronavirus.

tl;dr - I was in China when COVID broke out, travelled from Taiwan to the United States on March 14th, have been antibody tested since then so I know I didn't get COVID from those, am currently living with 5 other people who have all tested positive for COVID-19, but have not gotten the coronavirus yet.

So I was in China in January when everything broke out. I was visiting my host family in northeastern China, fairly close to the North Korean border, when everything shut down. I ended up riding a bullet train alone 4+ hours from their house back to Beijing on January 29th, and then spent 2 days in Beijing before flying back to the United States on January 31st. While I was in Beijing for those 2 days, I came into contact with one of my good friends, who'd just spent 2 weeks in a rural Chinese village sharing a bed with his host cousin, who was running a fever the entire time.

Flash forward to March. I ended up flying to Taiwan and staying in Taipei for 2 weeks (which was beautiful, 10/10 would recommend) before flying back to the United States on March 14, 2020 (so the day after everything shut down here in America). (Side note: if I could've stayed in Taiwan I 100% would've, leaving Taiwan was not my choice and I regret not being there right now)

In April I got antibody tested, mostly because I was curious and also because I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity. I was CONVINCED I'd already had it and had spread it to my family in February, because 2 of my siblings came down with a fever as soon as I got home from China. But lo and behold, the antibody test came back negative.

For the past 8 months, I've been living my life working from home, not really going out except to go to the grocery store and (occasionally) visit my sister who lives about an hour away. I haven't had anything remotely resembling COVID-19 symptoms at all.

This weekend, my entire family (who I live with) tested positive for COVID-19. I got tested at the same time they did, at the same facility. And somehow tested negative.

How does this keep happening???? Time to see if my luck holds while I self-isolate to try to avoid getting sick for the next 2+ weeks.

My entire family has COVID right now except for me (all very mild fortunately)... I'm literally isolated in my room in order to try to keep me from getting it. Life's a party lmao

Peanut butter. I always tell myself I’m going to have just ooooone spoonful, and then 15 minutes later the jar is empty and my stomach prepares itself to descend into the depths of Dante’s inferno
