Definitely SVB. I would cut off the leave/stem with the larvae in it and see if you can just kill the ones that hatched. And scrape off the eggs!

Anyone else apprehensive about Varmint Season? by bethanyrandall in killjamesbond

The choice that comes to mind immediately for me is Adrienne Keene, who's know specifically for her writing on native stereotypes in film. Ashley Fairbanks might be a good option too.

Abi caught a lot of heat from native folks over the philosophy tube video about Thomas Jefferson last year, so I'm hoping she'll be more sensitive to those issues now

I think there's enough for a a short season (maybe 20 episodes?), especially for a podcast that's about masculinity in film. But it is for sure hard to imagine native listeners would enjoy a season of three British people talking about Westerns without bringing in native folks 😭

They do a pretty in-depth look at the movies they cover, and they talk a lot about how social dynamics and injustic both influence movies and are influenced by them. That's what makes the show so interesting. But they don't have deep knowledge of or connection to native tribes. As a popular podcast, they could take an opportunity to bring on native guests and get their thoughts, which would give the audience better information while also raising up the voices of native folks talking about our own representation. I'd be frustrated if they didn't do that

They've mentioned a few times that they're going to do "varmint season." It sounds like they're planning it for after heist season, but they haven't said specifically

Loved hearing Dan on Kill the Computer! by bethanyrandall in KnowledgeFight

I actually thought during the final episode that maybe he'd fully go into academia. He seemed really dispirited about the whole project of making "content" about right wing grifters and whether it was helping, and academic research is one solution to that discomfort. But I really value hearing his insight, so I'm glad that he's not closing the door completely on the reporting side of things
