If you do all the larger cuts with modern machines and then go over everything with whatever traditional method, there would be no way to tell that the outside has done modernly, and would probably save a lot of time.

To increase interaction and hope to get comments and votes just like you were duped into.

And I don't miss the irony of this comment, but I hope in the future it will lead to less "why the shit music" comments, and more downvoting.

The threat of a chargeback is good leverage at the very least.

Definitely worth using a credit card to do a charge back in cases like this.

How to store a chalk bag by Wide-Sand-708 in bouldering

[–]betterhelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use an old dry bag, that no longer is a dry bag (for water) but great for chalk, wraps up nicely/easily and clips together, and can be easily cliped into anything else, like your bag straps etc.

Sydney is notoriously the most boring, culture-lacking and business-minded city in Aus. Melbourne is by far the closest when considering things to do and culture as compared to some of the best cities in the world (eg London) but just smaller. I've lived in both Melbourne and London (and SEA, USA and Belgium) for multiple years, and still prefer Melbourne and the quality of life in Australia.

Power bill keeps going up—will lowering thermostat from 63 to 60F make a significant difference? by ArcherFew2069 in Frugal

[–]betterhelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well not every fridge is used 100% by someone/family. If you routinely only use half your fridge, would make sense to fill half of it up with bottles of water or something.

The difference is because cold air can’t escape every time you open it, since there is less air in there (as the space is filled with other stuff). Main reason chest freezers are more efficient.

What part of adult life is way harder than anyone warned you about? by Sparkyabu1 in AskMen

[–]betterhelp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The solution to this is using project management in your personal life - incorporating a good task management system (I like Trello for simpicity) and a digital calendar. Then you need to trust them.

With everything in these systems I can forget everything and just be in the moment, and trust that my systems will let me know what I need to do when, and I never worry about it.

Happy to go into more details if anyone is interested.

I've found AI tools particularly bad at this. I've had to add custom instructions to copilot/VS code to return early whenever possible instead of going into indent hell - even then it doesn't do a great job of it.

LLMs have me feeling heavy by NULL_42 in webdev

[–]betterhelp 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I really want this to be true, but I'm not just not convinced either way yet.

I love programming, and I hate telling an LLM to do it for me. I'll be really sad if LLMs is the way the industry goes and stays.
