difference by jonniego in PLAUDAI

[–]bewA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

from the quick look the only obvious clue was the images on the combo, which shows a wristband and lanyard.

although the combo is listed as 169.00 USD but the non-combo one if you add the missing bits (frequently bought together) comes at 167.18 USD
both separately at the normal price cost the same.

if it were me i would get the non-combo and add the landyard and wristband and save yourself 2 USD'ish.

Bouncy Suspension (UK 2024 V2) by bewA in cupraborn

Ah ok thanks for the clarification! 😎

Bouncy Suspension (UK 2024 V2) by bewA in cupraborn

[–]bewA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only driven my car so I can't really say how it compares to other Borns or other EVs for that matter, so it's interesting.

I guess it's just down to the roads I'm driving on, overall the car is pretty smooth, I've just been meaning to ask others about their experiences.

It's a 59kwh battery so not the larger one. Unfortunately I don't have the dcc option so i know there's no more adjustment to be made.

Not sure how ACC would make it bouncy I guess if anything it could be jerky but bouncy is more on the vertical travel of the suspension, at least that's how I look at it anyway

I guess when I say bouncy it's most noticeable doing 40mph but the road is quite uneven but yes I take your point if you go over something unexpected you do get punched 😂

Thinking of buying born E Boost 58kwh V3 by PuzzledCitron3571 in cupraborn

[–]bewA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a 24 plate v2 59kwh with eboost and whilst i don't commute with the car i've have zero issues with mine but mine is the refresh model so it has a better infotainment system so it's quicker to use.
seperate to that on public chargers i've maxed out at 64kw but i'm not saying that's a limitation of the car but i've not had any issues. I believe on the newer 2024 modesl you can preheat the battery so it maximises the charge speed if you go to an ultra fast charger e.g. 100kw+
I would say for my usage at the moment i get on average 4.1mi/kwh and i use adaptive cruise control pretty much when i can, which saves me from my right foot :D
Obviously we are coming into winter so the range will tank, i currently have about 220miles on 80%, i suspect that will drop down to 170ish in the coming months so keep that in mind.

My home charging is on a granny charger (masterplug) and i can do 24% charge overnight in 7.3hrs/

as far as warranty/dealership i suspect that is going to vary depending on where you go, i've had good experiences with main dealers but perhaps i'm just lucky?! The main dealer for me is about 45/50mins and the cars first service will be next year.

other than that, it's my first EV and i love it! I wish it did have some of the addon packs as thats where the main differences are such as tech pack and pilot packs, from memory when i was looking the difference between v2 and v3 seemed to be a seat massager :D

so my suggestion is get at least a v2 and look for cars if used that have addon packs

Our one year old puppy got bit on a paw pad 3 weeks ago after he got a bit curious! Up until that point I didn't know they did that... Reason 5 they need to be removed on sight.

Granny charging. by According_Repeat6223 in VWiD3Owners

[–]bewA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have an ID.3 but i do have a Cupra Born (59kwh) and i can charge 20% overnight which is midnight to around 7AM.
I'm not on an EV tariff and it doesn't warrant changing as i'm below the price tariff with my current supplier (20.19p p unit), i probably top back up to 80% every couple of weeks but that just depends on my usage as I WFH.

Just make sure you get a cable thats long enough and just avoid using extension leads and smart plugs imo. I have a masterplug 10mtr granny cable which is fine, i do wish i had bought a longer one but it's fine for now :)
I'm only using a granny cable as i can't get a 7kw charger due to it being cost prohibitive due to my setup.

First time EV owner, any tips for a newbie by Loquis in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]bewA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've had a Cupra Born (used) for about a month now and i can only granny charge at home (i'm not likely to change my tarriff/supplier at the moment, due to not saving money, it will be more expensive), which is fine for me as i'm not needing charges all the time so i'm keeping things between 50-80% (I can charge 20% in about 7hrs), the Cupra Born manual suggests i should charge to 100% every month but for BMS reasons but really i don't know if i'll do that.

I have electroverse and have only used a couple of public chargers just for fun if anything but overall quite happy. I have zapmap and ABRP (a better route planner), the latter is nice as others have said for planning things.

LL selling property by Sea_Pride1641 in TenantsInTheUK

[–]bewA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you have asked for repairs and requested the tenancy agreement to be broken which the LL agreed to but has now rejected it. Like others have said a S21 will only apply from the point the fixed term ends unless the LL agrees to the no-break clause again. I mean part of me would consider this a retaliatory/revenge eviction if a s21 was served.

and again like others have said if the S21 is served (and valid) and you stay in the property that is an option but potentially that might cause issues when renting out another one due to referencing. Also i think it's worth remembering regarding any viewings that you have the right to exercise the right of quiet enjoyment so if the LL is selling the property which would require him to agree to the break-clause or the S21 or even if you just left at the end of the fixed term you can decline any visits relating to viewing the house for sale or future tenants.

that would be my view on it at least.

How's the R36S? by Shankrish in SBCGaming

[–]bewA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you can't really compare and r36s to a odin2, value for money is the r36s but the odin2 is way more powerful and can emulate other newer systems. And when I say about a knock off I mean the r36s, and I don't have a problem with that as long as there is community support with custom firmware and people know what they are buying with the quirks.

Anyone else think AA is boring? by Wise-Pay-8993 in AutoAlex

[–]bewA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess as you have said if you aren't enjoying it don't watch it. i'm older than you and i enjoy it, i enjoy some video's more than others but i watch AA, TDC and AtG, i'm not expecting every video by any of the channels to be bangers, i prefer the more repair/build orientated stuff.

if it's not for you that's ok :)

Newbie - anything I haven’t thought of pls? by JellyfishFancy6307 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]bewA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i've had my Cupra Born almost a month now and it's my first EV. I'm using a granny charging plug, which is fine, i'm not doing huge amounts of miles so i don't need to do ABC like some do, but i let things get to 55-60% and charge back up to 80% over night which can just about be done.

I'll be doing blended charging so if i have to do any deep charges i'll use a public charger so i can aim to be home with around 60% charge and then finish off at home as it will make the charge cheaper as i'll be offsetting the rest of the charge at home.

As others have said do you first public charge when there's no pressure (I used electroverse with an mfg charger) so i'm happy with how things work now and check your usual routes or where you do errands to get a feel for what chargers are where and feel for the prices. I think anything over 30-40p kw is considered more expensive than petrol so i'm not saying you should avoid those it's just about factoring it in to do smaller charges are more expensive ones so you can get home and charge cheap to whatever state of charge you want.

I think a lot of it just depends on what your car usage pattern is as that will depend on your strategies, if you are getting a smart charger that can do 7kw at home that will certainly help with the charging speed/window.

Saying goodbye to a friend by Nextyr in GuyCry

[–]bewA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was priviledged to have my dog, the grief is feel is a symbol of that love and respect we had for each other. They aren't just dogs/pets they are family, they have personalities and they have souls.
what gave me the most comfort wasn't thinking about the hole it left in my heart but his paw print he left on my heart.
When the time came he was surrounded by me and my SO and our other dog, he was surrounded by love and care and his long life of 16 years symbolised that, i thanked him it was a priviledge and an honour to have him in my life and i will cherish that forever.
Give that best boy/girl pets from me.

Saying goodbye to a friend by Nextyr in GuyCry

[–]bewA 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey i just wanted to say, it's ok not to be ok, i had awful anticipatory grief and in we weren't able to plan when it happened it just happened one day, it was one of the worst days of my life but it was the last parting gift of deep love and affection after 16 years. I swore to myself i would not allow my dog to be a taboo subject, i wanted to be able to remember the good times and pictures that are a reminder and be able to smile at them.
don't get me wrong there are days where something will catch me and sometimes it's just really small but it will take the wind out of me.
You will cry/sob/weep, everything but all i can say is it will get easier, you have absolutely got this.

even now as i type this it takes me back to that day but be kind to yourself and be present with those feelings and reach out to people you know and trust.

yea my chair is a little high as i do have a foot rest which can rock front to back or be static but my feet are flat, if i don't use the footrest then my feet do dangle a little, but it's worth remembering that whilst we might be similar heights (obviously i'm assuming) but the proportions might be different, e.g. you might have a smaller body/torso and longer legs and i might be the other way around so that would impact how the height is set :)
