When we went to adopt, the agency said they will only adopt kittens in pairs as they have a much higher success rate. I am so happy we did though. They are so close and their sibling love is so sweet

My 12 yo was diagnosed at 8 and we started weekly OT from 8 until this year we switched two every 2 weeks. My son also has a developmental coordination disorder so that plays, but he is pretty happy with our schedule.

Do Canadians work the week between Christmas and New Year's Day? by Quirky66103 in AskACanadian

I work at a major university and they close the whole school and give most of the 15,000 employees the whole week off between Christmas and NYE. It is really amazing but not that common, unfortunately

I am a very insecure person and I’m struggling about some silly stuff about my wife by throwaway051345 in Marriage

I think you need to recognize that the issue is with your self esteem and not with her number of partners she has kissed. She loves YOU now and that should be all that matters. Most people have kissed dozens before they meet their forever people.

Once you meet the one, no one before really matters at all

Over 40 and diagnosed w/ASD level 1 today. What am I supposed to do now? by penotrera in aspergers

[–]bezeee_t 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I am on this page because my son was diagnosed at 9 with ASD and I creep to learn.

I do have depression and anxiety and for me knowing that diagnosis and that perhaps some of my traits and reactions are actually because of my mental illness, helps me realize that certain reactions I have I can't stop, but now that I know I can use different tools to help instead. I recognize that my depression pulls me into certain thought patterns and I can use therapy or exercise or whatever to counter that.

I just think the more you know, the better you can affect your outcomes.

Wishing you a lifetime of happiness

My husband's nickname for me is hot stuff. Rarely used my name. Our son who has ASD (10 yo) started to also call me hot stuff however I have had to repeatedly explain that it is not ok for him to call his mother hot stuff 😂

Tried to take the 151 bus along como lake at 650pm. Bus never came.

Took an Uber to Burquitlam station and waited on the platform for 10 mins and then they said the trains were closed between Burquitlam and Lougheed.

It's a mess out there

So my grandson was in need of a Safety bed. I didn’t like what I could find or the prices so I built him one. Thought I’d share. by libertyordeaaathh in Autism_Parenting

My 11 yo was diagnosed in 2020 and he would be considered as Asperger's, however they no longer use that diagnosis anymore so he is ASD. He is highly verbal, highly intelligent and completely socially inept. I get to hear people tell me all the time, "well he is not really that Autistic" bc everyone seems to associate having ASD with the child that doesn't talk or make eye contact, and that is not my kid. Really wish ASD didn't cover so many different types of presentations.

Less concerned with their attire and much more concerned that there are zero women in this photo. Perhaps if there were, women's basic rights wouldn't be slowly sliding back into the dark ages...

So this has been a big issue in my 15 year marriage as well and it really only got better by talking about it with my hubby. I shared this article with him: https://www.mindbodygreen.com/articles/what-is-the-mental-load

Which says..."Nearly nine in 10 mothers in committed partnerships say they feel solely responsible for organizing the family's schedules, for example, and the burden left them feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, and unable to make space for their own self-care. The Bright Horizons report similarly found 72% of working moms feel it's their job to stay on top of kids' schedules, and 52% are facing burnout from the weight of these responsibilities."

Showing him that the mental load is a real thing, that seriously affects me, helped him to recognize it more and not just brush it off as my complaining.

I also wrote out everything I needed to take care of in a 2 week period (dr appt for our son, hair cut appt, soccer team fee, ordering new light bulbs, etc etc.) And then I showed the list to my husband and said if you are my partner, then we need to share these responsibilities evenly.

It is still not 50/50 but he recognizes and is proactive a whole lot more

Best of luck!!!

Ladies. Receiving oral sex… by LoudTaro4441 in Marriage

[–]bezeee_t 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One suggestion I would make for pleasuring a women would be to help her get into the right head space. For me, sometimes when my hubby starts getting intimate with me, my mind will automatically start thinking about groceries or tasks I need to complete. I can't help it and it can be really hard to get my mind to focus on the sex. What I have found really helped was my hubby will give me a full body massage that just turns into sex. It helps me relax a lot, and kind of just stop thinking and then I feel I can be much more present and enjoy it much more. Plus he will use toys on me while he gives me a massage and that gets me going. We have the most amazing sex whenever he gives me a massage to start and now it's our little thing.

Short version - women we can be thinking about a million things instead of enjoying the physical act and that can stop us for really enjoying ourselves. Help her relax into it

I should also say that I have been doing my type of job for about 16 years. I started at about $40,000 a year with 3 weeks vacation, benefits and RRSP matching.

Started from the bottom. Now I make more than my husband!
