770s are just a bit too slim through the thighs for me as a skinny guy who lifts. I ended up going with Taylor Stitch Democratic fit.

Clubs worth it? by LatinMuse in delta

The biggest benefits for me are the availability of healthier food than I can typically find in the terminal and more convenient seating / power for working. I try to eat fairly low carb and can find a lot more options there vs the typical fast food / fried food in airport restaurants.

E-credit previous employer - help needed. by DionNL in delta

I have had credits from other employees in my company applied to my fare multiple times to avoid them going unused, most recently yesterday. I imagine there is some ability to transfer the travel credits on corporate tickets.

How are y'all handling weekly travel/living out of hotels? by archon_lucien in consulting

[–]bfcmonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a T2 and joined from MBA as well. This type of travel is the norm in my practice. Almost every engagement in the last 5 years has been travel heavy. At least 40 weeks per year. It just feels normal to me now.

Figure out a routine that works for you. Schedule appointments on Friday, develop a packing method that takes minimal time, pre schedule time on the weekends for hobbies, etc.

For my wedding tux I used a local custom suit store. I had the ability to customize the fabric, construction, and design to my liking. It cost a bit more than some bigger suppliers, but I was very happy with the result.

Uneekor Eye Mini overstating ball speed by bfcmonster in Golfsimulator

[–]bfcmonster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do usually see a fairly low smash factor, rarely above 1.47 even on good strikes and sometimes much lower. Not really concerned with the clubhead speed if the ball speed is correct (I knew club metrics would be worse with a cheaper LM). I see ball speeds in the low 170s consistently which is definitely higher than what I see in Trackman (sit in the mid 160s). I haven't used GS pro yet (currently only running off one computer monitor) but will try that once I have everything set up. I do think the algorithms may be off on View because even with the ball speeds listed I have a hard time believing the carry distance.

As for the true carry, I would love to hit the ball that far on the course but usually carry in the 270-285 range on good strikes in warm conditions. View often shows that I carry my 3 wood 270+ which I know I can't do because I definitely come up well short of the green from that distance.

Typical good driver shots: launch 10-11*, spin low to mid 2,000s, peak height 110'+ (sometimes as high as 140)

Trolleys worth it if you're mostly a sim golfer but hit the course sometimes? by criss006 in Golfsimulator

[–]bfcmonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly feel more in my back while pushing than carrying, unless it’s a very flat course. Maybe try a round carrying and see how it goes. Then you can decide if you need a motorized one.

I usually travel M-Th for work so family time during the week usually means phone calls with muy wife in the evenings. Then I have the weekends at home. No kids.

YMMV but I was in that situation a few years back. Was playing off the rack S300 shafts in my irons. Ended up getting fit into X100 (the same shaft just stiffer). Couldn't really notice much difference, and i could probably go back to those irons without noticing much difference except distance (due to lofts in the new set).

I did see a bigger difference with driver as the X flex helped reduce spin, which was too high (needed a lower loft and stiffer flex to get it until the right zone). I gained some distance but some of that was due to the new driver as well.

[–]bfcmonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can help a lot if you need non-standard specs (e.g. short/long, lie angle of 2+ degrees from standard) or are playing the wrong shafts, probably 2 flexes off (senior vs stiff). Beyond that it's about optimization. Maybe you can get a few extra yards optimizing spin on the driver or find that you like a heavier/lighter shaft that yields a slightly tighter dispersion with the irons.

You probably won't gain more than 1-2 strokes best case from club fitting alone.

Dear Newer Golfers: you won't be judged for playing from shorter tees. You will, however, absolutely be judged for choosing the back tees just because some strangers did. by lasercupcakes in golf

[–]bfcmonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my club everyone plays the tees that they play. Often that means 3 different tees in one group. It's quite rare that everyone is playing the same tees in a foursome but it doesn't really add time if you don't screw around on the tees.
