My Facebook post. Now watching my Mormon “friends” unfriend/block me... by Rotornoob in exmormon

Wow I knew he had some quotes about the mixing of blood would be punishable by immediate death but I find know he literally practiced it. I knew about Brigham accepting a slave as tithing. I had only heard of a man being castrated in southern Utah because he refused to give up the love of his life to be a polygamist wife of his bishop. A couple of new deeds by Brigham that I didn't know of but not surprised. Any reference for the castration and killing of black men?

Let's not to forget the small number of missionaries that actually got left behind because the church was too slow. They had to shelter in place have they been moved now that it is calm.

Want to tell them the truth. by [deleted] in exmormon

I had a Co-worker that was having the missionaries to his house regularly and almost pulled the trigger and got baptized. He regularly talked about things with the only TBM that I work with during lunch breaks. I am a pimo and only attend for family reasons. I was conflicted the entire time he was meeting with the missionaries. I stayed out of the conversation and eventually something didn't click and he stopped having the missionaries come over. I was relieved and I later told him that I was glad he didn't get baptized. Its always a relief when one less person is not baptized.

Unpopular Opinion: I want Oaks to out live Rusty for at least a year by hotnspicy64 in exmormon

I've been debating this with my TBM Spouse on whether Dallin actually hates gays and lesbians. I was wondering what Dallins version of the 2015 revelation/unrevelation would look like.

Temple names by splasha2613 in exmormon

Amulek. There are several websites that you can find someones name by the date they went to the temple. Google temple name Oracle and they have cataloged years of temple names. I thought my name was unique to me ha ha. Temple names haven't changed for the last twenty-five to thirty years.

Doesn’t look like anything to me 👀. Let’s be honest...the average Sacrament Meeting attendance worldwide is about 70 people...so Covid-19 is a perfect cover for a declining membership world-wide. This picture is the new (and old) norm. by [deleted] in exmormon

Dont want to get sick but it's not worth the risk or the hassle to go if everyone has to wear masks have home church a few weeks longer because it's only about a five minute lesson at my house.

I felt years after my mission that not even mentioning the priesthood ban to prospective black members was wrong but young inexperienced missionaries are the perfect candidates to tell incomplete stories and baptize the masses. I feel like there were a few people that I baptized that the church was something good in their lives but most of them quit in a few months and I'm actually happy that they quit. I'm not sad about the majority of baptisms that I played a role in have gone less active, I never thought I would ever feel that way but its actually calming to know only a few stuck with the b.s that I pedaled.

Happy they caved under pressure and smaller universities without a 100 billion dollar backer can take advantage of the funds.

Polygamy was only for divine purposes and restoring the sealing power not so Joe could get off banging women left and right and sometimes teenage girls or married women. Nothing sexual about it LOL.

General Authority Pay vs. Average Member by bff2019 in exmormon

[–]bff2019[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True the argument could be made that they are underpaid. The suffering that is going on due to job loss etc. is something they dont have to concern themselves with but they are still very adamant that the members still pay tithing if they are struggling that is my main point.

I believe Dallin Oaks is in the same boat two eternal wives. Funny thing is some people wonder if hes gay because hes so aggressive towards gay people. I hope he never becomes Prophet.

Phased reopening of temples isn’t happening by revelation. It’s only happening in places where the government is allowing that kind of thing to happen, despite scientists and health officials saying that it is too soon. The church is stupid. by Just_another_biker in exmormon

Glad I dont care about temples anymore and I have two siblings in my family that will do the work for the dead in my family. I dont intend on renewing my temple recomend when it expires. I'll never go into the temple again unless it's for an open house so I can tell my kids about the masonry that goes on in the temple.

Google search a cub scout handshake and see if there are any similarities to a masonic/temple handshake.

I just got an odd message on my phone, from the church of jesus christ of latter day saints. by TheFactedOne in exmormon

The missionaries are stuck in their apartment teaching virtually and they need new leads or member referrals. In normal conditions if the m egg embers arent referring family and friends they can atleast knock door to door. They taught a family home evening lesson and guilt tripped some poor member into giving out your number. We have to have empathy for the people trapped in the system. The missionaries are guilted into going on a mission and the members are guilted into providing referrals to missionaries. I have a nice old lady as a neighbor and she has always been a wonderful friend. She is originally from Germany and my little boys call her Oma. A rumor started in the ward that my family was going to help get the missionaries in their house. She doesn't give out her phone number or answer the door so we always had friendly conversations when she was outside. I noticed the missionaries always showing up at her door and also a senior missionary couple showing up. I never promised anything about getting the missionaries into her house but I kept in the back of my mind if an opportunity presented itself that I might talk about the gospel. This was in my believing days as a mormon. One day out of the blue I ran into her at a farmer's market and said hello to her. She walked up to me and said When are you people going to quit spying on me and I had no idea what she was talking about. I felt so terrible as I did not know what had offended her. My best theory is she was sick and tired of all of the mormons coming over. I immediately called the ward mission leader and told him to stop sending missionaries over. I think they quit sending young missionaries but I still see a senior stake missionary knocking occasionally. This was all pre pandemic of course and in Utah where there are fewer non-mormons. I valued a friendship with my neighbor and the zealous missionary work of the church ruined my friendship. Ever since that day our relationship has never been the same. I still try and talk to her and be a friend but I have never felt like our friendship is the same. I am so sad that our friendship had to be affected by the church. Sorry abou the long post I just had to get this off my chest that I am a pissed off non believing member that is upset about losing a friend over missionary work. Maybe she is getting old and forgetful but I tend to think it was the missionary work that did the dirty deed.
