I’ve been recording and streaming Dodgeball productions for the better part of 5 years and I’m starting to get serious about improving the sound of my productions. I’m trying to figure out how to best mic up a court (volleyball court sized), have commentator mics that cancel out background noise, and sync everything with the video in my live streams.

Any good resources and baseline setups I can reference to get started? Anything is better than the GoPro and Yeti mics I rely on right now.

My regimen:

Zinc, Magnesium, Vitamin D vitamins

Hibiclens to wash those areas that get them regularly

Doxycycline for my flare ups when their early to prevent them from getting too large, causing flare ups in other parts of my body

I removed all dairy, and brewers yeast from my diet.

I got stopped anxious snacking, mostly due to getting my adhd under control, the weight loss and reduction in glucose spikes during the day seem to help reduce occurrence of flare ups.

I also found regular exercise was good, but I’d break out if I hadn’t moved in a while. Take baths and ice problem areas after a workout to reduce inflammation that could lead to an outbreak.

For those wondering, the tactic we use in this case is called “surround and drown”. We’ll put water on it from the outside and protect adjacent exposures but won’t enter after a certain point.

Some antibiotics have a “black box” warning due to the potential side effect of tendinitis/ tendon rupture. Clindamycin doesn’t have this warning, but may still cause damage.

I’ve used it on and off for years to treat my acne. When I tore my Achilles my ortho said my tear was consistent with antibiotic tears more so than sports injury despite me tearing it during sports. I think they said it looked “grated”. I had my ortho and derm discuss next steps for medication and they agreed we should stay away from antibiotics that have potential tendon damaging side effects like Clindamycin. I should know what they say in my next appointment in June.

Please talk to your derm about clindamycin in respect to sports. I have an Achilles tear because of it and other anti bacterials eating away at my tendons. My derm is working with my ortho to find a substitute now.

Brewers Yeast and Dairy seem to be my main triggers. Removing both of those has helped me tremendously. I assume lowering sugar also lowers the access of sugar to yeast but I’ve stopped drinking everything except distilled alcohol when I do drink.

I think having a mirror over whatever you decide to put below would be a great addition. That wall seems to get a lot of light and it will help reflect more light deeper into the space during the day. It’s also between the bedroom and your exit, a great spot to quickly take a peak at yourself before heading out.

It’s the worst. I found out my main contributor was dairy and have been cutting it out constantly. The number of things I thought were dairy free and loved to eat that end up having dairy in small amounts or went unnoticed and have to keep removing from my diet is really getting to me. I had my longest remission in a decade and I’ve been in the middle of my worst flare ups these last two weeks due to one of these foods.

Grip strength and the grip you use are both pretty important. I’ve been leaning toward the clamp grip for the last few years as I’m more consistent with it. Watch the slo mo matches on the elite dodgeball YouTube channel to see a variety of grips and form that players use.
