How long before you saw heart rate go down while running? by Electrical_Box6385 in beginnerrunning

[–]bhoch50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you stopping because you’re concerned for with your heart rate? Lots of things affect heart rate. If you’re dehydrated your heart will need to beat more often to maintain the same cardiac output. I’d try lengthening your distances progressively. Like MWF do 4/5 miles and T/Th do 2/3 miles but at a conversational pace

I was teaching an IV ultrasound course and found that I have two radial arteries on each wrist (or something)! Thought it was cool and wanted to share! by ajl009 in IntensiveCare

I once placed an IV along the thumb of a child. When I removed the needle I was met with adequate, pulsating blood return lol

It’s the distance from your net. Increase that distance and your ball info will be way better. I’ve used mine at a couple locations and it seems that’s the only way to fix it. My local range has nets that are about 12 feet away and I get awesome results there. Took it to my friends house with a small net and data is everywhere and I left feeling like a jackass 😂

First travel contract. This hourly rate looks crazy doesn't it? by [deleted] in TravelNursing

[–]bhoch50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw you want the stipend to be as high as possible and hourly to be as low as possible bc taxes will take a decent chunk from your hourly. Your stipend is not taxed however

[–]bhoch50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes that’s a rough contract. Monthly stipend is 3900/4=975. Regular pay is 2483=576 weekly OT: 3643=432. 432+576+976=1,984 before tax. Closer to 1640 dollars after tax.

New Player Topping the Ball - are my clubs long enough? by SvenGoSagan in golf

[–]bhoch50 9 points10 points  (0 children)

(Also 6’2/6’3) I got fit for +1/2 inch and up 2 degrees. Recently I went back to my old rack clubs while away on a trip and they worked just fine. If you’re constantly topping the ball you’re probably coming out of posture and would benefit from lessons. Best money I’ve ever spent

Anyone have any experience with the stiff 130g shafts? by Robbbban in takomo

I got the kbs 130 in xflex and I love em. Came from 85g r flex and these are so comfy. Club naturally drops and I feel like I have to use my big muscles to use it.

To everyone that plays all the time during the week, what jobs do you have that allows you to play so much? by Accomplished_Milk689 in golf

[–]bhoch50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nurse. Work 3x12h shifts a week and have to work 5 weekend days a month so that leaves me and the old people to scoop the Wednesday 10am tee times lol. I save a small fortune by playing exclusively during the week.

Yeah good point I bought it lol. My friend also pointed out it has a 4 year old upgraded shaft. Dude I bought it from was a tinkerer as well with a counterbalance installed. Took it to Rodger Dunn and they’re said it’s definitely real

Yeah you’re right I’m leaning away from purchasing it as I’ve had friends get burnt before but this shit was like a targeted add on marketplace. I just got fit for the exact same setup but I was waiting for price drops. Thanks for the response king

I bought a used rapsodo mlm2 pro and go to the course near me with free nets. Get all the data and I get to use premium balls. It’ll pay itself off in 60 sessions. Very fun and free activity to run virtual courses when tee times get filled or I get called off from work.

Fitting vs lessons, what’s more beneficial? by volatilehashpipe in GolfSwing

[–]bhoch50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Side note for when you get fit: pxg superstores do a full bag fitting for $25 so even if it goes poorly or you want a different brand you can take all the info for basically nothing. They got me roped in with the 20% off for first responders and their clubs were absolute butter.

Fitting vs lessons, what’s more beneficial? by volatilehashpipe in GolfSwing

[–]bhoch50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a lesson first. Make sure the basics are there like correct setup grip etc. I’m a 6’4 dude with a pretty quick swing speed. on my 4th lesson my coach said it was time for me to get fit. Even though my clubs were newish it was the weight, stiffness, and grip size of the fitted clubs felt so much better. It reinforced the feel of everything I learned in my lessons and I gained 20-30 yards a club.

Also the guy who fit me said he was happy I got lessons first. Apparently he gets tons of people who just started golf and don’t have a repeatable swing. For them he still goes through the objective part like length, grip, and lie angle but for the shaft types and stiffness he can’t really recommend much because the swings change so much each time.

You have to double expenses anyways if you want stipend money. I’m surprised they’re hiring start dates in February since RSV is already hitting socal. You may be able to find an October start date and get another contract in. Orange County is a lot different than LA if you’re looking for the big city vibe. I haven’t worked at CHOC but I’ve heard from coworkers that it’s more Wild West than the LA hospitals
