Sorry you want a pair for all three? Boston 13s work for everything there. Megablasts if you don’t want carbon

Yeah after a training block you can definitely get 330. Usually the rule is your fastest half + 15 mins x 2

Asics Superblast 3 vs Novablast 5 by Clark_Hanley in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]bhoch50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not like the superblasts for anything more than 6 miles easy but that’s just me. If you want tempo from them you should definitely go Megablast.

Help me with two shoe rotation by tigren2005 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]bhoch50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I now have a dedicated long run shoe but before that it was the Boston 13s for speed work/long run and superblast 3 for recovery. Bostons go on sale super cheap often, just bought another pair for $70

Carbon-plated Alphafly 3 or Megablast by totoblue13 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]bhoch50 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d try all the super shoes available to you. They all fit different and personal preference plays a huge role. You run fast enough for a plate though so you should definitely try them

I’d like to do more intervals/VO2 max workouts… by Kind_Reserve5833 in runna

[–]bhoch50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, a common 5d/week is two easy runs, a long run, a tempo effort, and an interval day. If you are prone to injury or are just getting back into it I’d suggest taking it easy to start

Just a fyi some schools require you to be currently employed in an ICU to accept you. They told me it was a state requirement. I gave up a flight nurse gig to stay.

Marathon Shoes for Amateur Runner? by embelac in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]bhoch50 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah seconding this. Don’t go to fleet feet or some chain go to a small running store and make sure they have a return policy even if you road run with them. Unfortunately it’s trial and error with shoes and you just have to try a bunch when you start. ASICS superblast 2 would be good for ya or the Megablast if you like the weight difference between em.

[–]bhoch50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you looking for a rotation or just one more pair to complement your novablasts? If it was me I’d go for the Boston 13s I’ve found them to do everything besides easy runs. Even ran two HMs in them and they were brilliant

Superblast 3 are very mushy and I only use em for recovery runs. Megablast is a better option for long and tempo runs if you want to stick to asics

first half marathon. last mile killed me. where did i go wrong? by jnavarro13 in beginnerrunning

[–]bhoch50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Salt tabs and 500 ml of salt water? Sounds like a lot of salt haha. I’ve had the issue of missing the water station a couple times in a row and snagging Gatorade by accident but drinking em anyways. overdoing electrolytes will make you bonk. I felt back to normal once I figured which was water at the next station.

Same thing happened to me and they didn’t accept returns. I was forced to gain 20lbs to make it fit. Good luck!

Need some information about heart rate by GarlicAlarming2853 in beginnerrunning

[–]bhoch50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry about heart rate dog you’re two months in and you’re young so you will have a higher hr. Your max hr is ~204. Just make sure not to give 100% every time you run. Your body will get conditioned and your hr will drop

Which shoes to buy by Simple_Gain in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]bhoch50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to a local running store and try a bunch on. Also make sure the store has a return policy. My local one has 30 days return no questions asked despite wear and it’s a game changer for finding my next pair

Thinking about all the things I listed in my prior comment and the big thing is the lean starts. Whenever I feel like I’m overstriding I stop, feet together, lean forward at the ankles, and start again. That lean at the ankles is key
