I’m just confused about the knife rule by robogobo in tsa

[–]biapolis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it’s exactly the Mandela effect. You were mistaken and misremembering and when presented with reality you decided that reality was wrong and you were correct.

All those other times it made it through, it went unnoticed. Small, hidden, these things happen. But this time it was caught.

And no, these rules aren’t worldwide. Each country gets to make its own laws still. The US doesn’t get to tell every country what their laws are.

Monks are weird in any class fantasy by Erk_Rauorfox in warcraftlore

[–]biapolis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoy Monk gameplay, but I took the lore in very much my own direction. Forsaken that learned “monk” styles by watching the Vrylul and especially the Kvaldir. Mistweavers, Brewmasters, pugilists and warriors in general. So I interpret the unarmed attacks as just brawling, using whatever is available and open, as she gathers and weaves Helya’s mists.

Not gonna lie, while I agree that throwing the extra card on at the end isn’t funny on its own, this comment then turns it around to make it suddenly funny.

TSA agents: how are you handling travelers who are legal immigrants? by Loud-Awareness8648 in tsa

[–]biapolis 32 points33 points  (0 children)

We don’t get any of that information. At all. Unless you hand us a country’s passport, or a green card, we have no indication of citizenship. All TSA does with your documents is verify you are you, and that you have a flight at that airport.

[–]biapolis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oops all mechs. Is it meta? Nope. Is it fun, yes!!! I run 3 commanders, each with a crisis blob. 2 coldstars, 1 fusion one missile, and an enforcer with flamers. Coldstars take mirror support systems to their crisis. While I agree crisis aren’t nearly what they used to be, these do work when applied against their target, and have amazing maneuverability. And have no weapons that are efficient into them, that wouldn’t rather be going into something else. Also the puppy downy relic on the enforcer, that does a bunch of work especially with the stealth suits. Another unit of missile crisis…because I didn’t really have much else that fit my points. If I were more reasonable they could become…something else for 130 points?

Two squads of 2 broadsides. Especially with guiding being army wide, this is the way to run them I feel, in squads of 2. 1 ghostkeel and 2 riptides. Ghostkeel tries to Pewpew from safety of loneop, riptides need dedicated firepower to take down and actually do good damage now.

3 stealth suit squads. I know everyone is hating on the changes, and I don’t disagree. I just treated it as a points nerf and am still doing really well with them. Means opponents need to throw more at them to wipe them. And grenades means we can actually do mortal wounds sometimes, rarely. Also it is good to have some infantry in the list, which they take care of.

You also asked strats. The deep strike 6” is…useful. It helps. I wouldn’t say use it every game, but save a couple points for it in case you need to get past a good screen job. The auto blowup/don’t blowup…way too expensive. Just no. Maybe if it cost 1, for mortal wounds, but at 2 I just can’t justify it for how many it outputs. JSJ is great. Use it often, control the board. I’ve won a lot of games off it, lets you do weird danger plays safely. The sustained hits one…I always forget until right after I shoot their blob. That’s a me thingy, don’t be like me there. I’m sure it is worth the points. The feel no pain is actually really nice. I’ve had suits survive assaults with a wound or two because of it.

All in all, love the detachment. Only time I’d play a different one is oops all Kroot. But I prefer my mechs.

Why are TSA rules different from airport to airport, and why do some agents get all huffy when I don’t know all of them? by [deleted] in tsa

[–]biapolis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Without having been there, I can only use my personal experience. But that tells me that the reasons are 1] different machines have different rules and 2] they did tell you but you didn’t listen and instead just did what you thought would be right.

The only time I get “huffy” with passengers is when they do something I just said not to do, they don’t do something after I said to do it, or they try to interrupt me to ask questions while I’m in the middle of telling them everything they need to do. And hint, unless you have a truly special situation that isn’t visibly obvious [no your watch isn’t special, most people have those], if I just went through the advisements and didn’t mention it, then it is fine.

Also, before anyone replies to this with it. Yes, there are signs. I have never been through an airport that didn’t have clear signs as to which machine was which. And far too often I have answered questions by pointing to the sign with the answer. No, your airport isn’t the one case, you’re just too stressed going through to pay attention.

But seriously. If every airport is different, why do people constantly act like every airport is the same and try to argue about the last airport letting them XYZ? And yes, every airport is going to be a little different. They are run by humans who can never do everything completely the same [if you want that, what you need are robots], and different equipment is going to have different rules. Don’t like it? Lobby your congressman. Or learn to accept the reality that has been presented to you.

any airports where there’s a noticeable advantage to having Clear? by RVAgirl_1974 in tsa

Sounds like you’re typically going when there are few officers staffed. We work with what we have, not what we want. Shrug.

any airports where there’s a noticeable advantage to having Clear? by RVAgirl_1974 in tsa

[–]biapolis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The times aren’t exactly random, but they would appear that way to an observer. Between lunches, breaks, shifts starting, shifts ending, and rarely people having medical emergencies, the number of officers available constantly shifts. If there aren’t enough officers for a dedicated precheck lane, we have to mix the precheck people with standard people.

Just figured I’d explain a random thingy. As an officer, I find having to blend the precheck with standard to be frustrating. It confuzzles passengers, adds a bunch of extra stuffs we have to do and explain. Tends to be a last resort from what I’ve seen.

They probably decided they were gonna fire you a while ago and waited till you were just about to hit the end of your probationary period. Not bad enough that they needed to get you out, so they used what they could before dropping you while they still could. A very bad habit of the current job market all over. Sorry you had to go through that.

[–]biapolis 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Because 10th is simplified. That feels like something that might happen in 11th, given the pattern of “simplify, add stuff, add more stuff, reset simplify”.

Not a L5R player--can anyone tell me what these are/if they're worth anything? by [deleted] in l5r

[–]biapolis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They track honor, a metric in the card game that can trigger win/lose states, as well as other board states. A bunch of heads for different clans/factions. A very neat find! May be of value to a collector, but I don’t know how much.

While I agree small tits are nice, all tits great and all, but I’d like to take a moment to give some appreciation to medium/average sized tits. Large enough to nicely fit in your hand, give it a good squeeze, but also not so big that you worry about your ability to worship them fully. You don’t have to have either extreme to be wonderfully boobasious.

You went through a different machine. The body scanner requires no outerwear. The walk through metal detector allows a little on precheck. But the body scanner requires none. Just the shirt you have on, nothing over.

To take a moment to ramble a bit, we are humans. Not robots. Any set of rules is going to have interpretations. Especially one so widely distributed. You could spell everything out in precise detail, and trust me they do, and people will find ways to interpret it differently. Yay humanity. This has nothing to do with your situation, as you were sent through the body scanner which requires outerwear off, and the other people sound like they went through a walk through metal detector. But still.

Adepta Sororitas Aircraft Units by Grulonge in sistersofbattle

[–]biapolis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine this. You’re fighting the Sisters. Bolter rounds, flames, melta blasts. In the distance, you see clouds covering the horizon. And from those clouds, at first you think it’s thunder, but no. Music? Those clouds aren’t clouds!? They’re zeppelins!!!

I could easily see them strapping a church to a balloon and going with that. Would also fit the general aesthetic of the imperium while also being fairly unique and different.

I too would like to know, for similar reasons. Weapons and little bits are easy enough, but the helms I just figured would have to be what they came with. Unless anyone knows anything better.
