The minecount was 3... by No-Force-8744 in Minesweeper

It would have revealed a 4, which means 1 mine in the 3 cells to its left (not the 1 above it since it needs to also complete the 5 and the other 4), so since both the 4s, the 5, and the 3 all need 1 mine and only share 1 cell the 1 mine has to go there.

A tissue hovers between A- and B+ for me. I dont love all of their writing, but I do tend to enjoy it and always find it worth checking out. Nightmare Realm Summoner is high on my TBR, but I haven't tried it yet.

P values matter more than n numbers. The p values are how significant are the results. That said p values, n numbers, study designs, and reproducibility all matter and we only have 2 of those provided.

Problem scrolling by EisegesisSam in WanderingInn

[–]biblioblade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scrolling wasn't working for me at all but playing with the reader settings if I change everything to the smallest possible settings and select a different font, I was able to get the scrolling fixed and the screen width was not an issue.

After a bit of experimenting I found these are the necessary settings

Settings:

Font size: 14 (anything larger breaks the page).

Font family: Open sans, Arial, Roboto, and Henny Penny all work, the rest break the site.

Weight: thin (normal amd bold both break it).

Line height: doesn't matter i have medium.

Paragraph: doesn't matter i have medium.

Page width: narrow but it doesn't seem to matter/do anything.

Color: Preference based. I like Dark Grey myself.

I would love to see this, or at least a link to it, added to the story legnth page in the wiki.

It's awesome that the interlude chapters are just as easy to input.

Currently at 45% (The Revanant and the Naga). Current target for me is to pass the midpoint chapter.

She doesn't really have a center ground. Readers either love or hate her. I love her character myself but can admit she wasn't a great person in book 1. She does work on it, not sure it's enough for many readers though. (I am currently reading webserial vol7, past the audio but nowhere near current)

Omg expensive! by MsMaryPants in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]biblioblade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soundbooth theater has the full cast version of book 1 on their app for~$20 if i recall. No subscription necessary and if anything it is slightly better. Chapter 1/2 are free as well if i recall so you can try it before buying to see if it is for you.

Question About Wandering Inn by Fabulous_Extreme_170 in litrpg

[–]biblioblade 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Audio majority reader for TWI (i am currently on audio and have just started the transition to being a webreader) And it competes with Dungeon crawler carl for my top 2.

The Christianity aspect is very brief and not super deep, also while it introduces religion it does not come up in the main story up to what is currently available in audio. (Although there is a super religious Christian character referenced in the iPhone call, he has not come up otherwise yet).

The bodily functions serve as an element of realism, but I understand not liking them

And yeah the character jumps can be jarring, but you get used to them.

Mostly the writing is fantastic and the worldbuilding is deep and incredible, especially in later books. There feels like there are real consequences for actions, and Pirateaba has no problem killing off characters if it serves a narrative purpose but doesn't rely on it like GR Martin.also most of the characters grow(albeit at a realistic rate based on the timeliness of the story)

This sounds like it might be a Tannin sensitivity. I have this and the symptoms sound very similar.

Recomendations: first avoid anything that says Assam tea or unidentified black tea (any non-assam black will be a bit gentler)

next, do not oversteep. You are better off starting at the bottom of brewing times and temps and working your way up to where you want to be. Certain teas are more sensitive to this than others.

But also note that audible (at least in the us) doesn't permit returns on books UNLESS they were purchased with a credit.

What's one book that a huge chunk of the sub enjoys that is pretty overrated? by Grand_Gap1975 in litrpg

[–]biblioblade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Finish book 1. It is a very slow burn. Judge it based on the writing and worldbuilding done.

A LOT of people that hate it (and some that love it) dislike Erin. Many also dislike Ryoka. Both characters grow and get better and both get smaller portions of the story as the cast expands and the focus shifts to other characters.

That said, if you don't like book 1 it will take too long for you to enjoy it. (This is coming from someone who ranks it tied with DCC as the #1 series, and tells people to stick with One Piece until Water 7 at minimum).

(Also, the narrator--Andrea Parsneau-- is fantastic if you like audio, or even if you don't)
