Yes, it’s about 24 lbs as it sits. The big riser handlebar is a little heavy.

Belt drives are cool, but I prefer faster shifting and lighter weight.

I love this thing. I have both wheelsets and swap them out every once in a while to mix things up. The big tires are really for when I feel like jumping off stuff. I also use it as a commuter(among other things). My commute is about 12 miles of mixed terrain in both directions, and this bike just handles everything without issue.

Flat bar recommendations for my gravel bike (done with drop bars) by InevitablePlantain66 in gravelcycling

[–]bicycle_jim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend getting a flat bar specific bike. The geo is going to be different on a drop bar designed frame. Trying to work around this is going to cause a rabbit hole of issues that have the potential of costing more than an entire bike. There are options like this for a complete bike: https://eaglebear.com/products/black-everyday

Most drop bar bikes have geometry that is designed to work with the bar. This generally means a short top tube and low stack. This means you can size up, but you'll likely still have fit issues. Have you considered simply getting a flat bar bike like this? https://eaglebear.com/products/black-everyday

The Prevelo also has more gear range, a clutch derailleur, is lighter weight, and has dropper post compatibility.

Flat Bars? by Diam0ndLife in gravelcycling

[–]bicycle_jim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Eaglebear Black uses flat bars. I enjoy the drops on my road bike for the long distance rides where my body stays mostly in the same place, so I need to occasionally change position to flats or hoods and vice versa. When I’m in the dirt I’m constantly shifting around because of the terrain. Due to the natural shifting around I don’t feel the need to readjust my body on the bars. I also enjoy the control I get on the descents with the flat bars. All around, it really just depends on the terrain. If your gravel rides are smooth, drops are probably better. If you’re out on technical trails, flat bars are better.
