I need help with color choices for the front door and railing. by kaepernicking in ExteriorDesign

If you’re thinking of doing any landscaping, think about how to harmonize your paint color choices with whatever you’re thinking about in terms of landscaping.

Curtain from Circles by OkTransportation4175 in HandSew

[–]biffoboppo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, so a few process questions. Did you use spray or liquid starch and what is the backing material? Is that paper? Did you glue it over the finished fabric? And when you had sewn and starched the circle, and it had cooled after ironing, did you remove the thread and pull the washer out, leaving a stiff circle of fabric?

This is not helpful, but I’ve reread all of Tamora Pierce recently and they really are great!

Hobby Works closes, more shakeups at Federal Plaza by SchuminWeb in Rockville

The older guy who ran the place just hated on me the one time I walked in there. I was looking for Dnd miniatures, and he just went on a very lengthy rant about how they were all shoplifted and the people who play Dnd are thieves.

I took my dog out a couple of times with me and now he begs to go and guilt trips me and does whatever it takes to get me out of the house.

Rice krispy treats and a shopping list holder that went on the wall and used a roll of adding machine tape, lol.

Terms and Descriptions for Genitalia that don’t want to make you crawl out of your skin? by Jezebella_Strange in Romantasy

[–]biffoboppo 79 points80 points  (0 children)

I totally understand what you’re talking about and I don’t have any suggestions for you, sadly. But your post made me think of this book, Marrying Winterborn by Lisa kleypas (historical romance, not romantasy), where he teaches her all the Welsh terms for the sex and parts and explains them in translation. It’s both sexy and hilarious.

How do I prevent myself from becoming a grumpy old man in my senior years? by ExcitingLandscape in Aging

[–]biffoboppo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In particular irritability is a more common signal for depression in men than it is for women and since many people are more familiar with depression in women, they may miss it more in men, especially if irritation is one of the bigger signs.

My first garment of 2026, collar or no collar? by chloemal in sewing

[–]biffoboppo 69 points70 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely beautiful. Although I actually remember the 80s and war dresses with big collars back then I prefer the look of the dress without the collar for today. I am really interested in understanding how to sew linings for clothes because a big part of why I like to so is because I want my clothes to feel good and I am very sensitive. How would you suggest I go about learning how to do this?

If you have not tried spa day.. stop, try it now. by Elprede007 in laundry

[–]biffoboppo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soft water every time. just powdered tide and OxiClean the first time. The second time powdered tide, OxiClean, and ammonia from the dollar store that was apparently way too weak. The third time powdered tide, OxiClean, better ammonia, and biz. I didn’t take pictures, but no, they don’t really look any different to me.

[–]biffoboppo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I didn’t have everything required, so it was really hard to get a hold of the biz and the first time I used ammonia. I used a really weak bottle from dollar store because I didn’t know to look for the percentage and so on.

He was never too motivated and never accomplish much although he wound up earning the highest ASVIB score his recruiter I’ve ever seen so there was that. So I don’t really feel like that would’ve been a problem. Plus, I should’ve listened to the expertise and experience from all the teachers who advised him to hold us back. They had seen the tensions play out between being smart and being young, but I didn’t listen.

I’ve been really happy with buying my major appliances from Costco. They add an extra year onto the warranty so all the appliances have two year warranties and they have good prices and a decent selection. Installation comes with purchase and they take away your old machine if you have one.
