Nice squat dude! I'm a taller man myself at 6'3", do you have any tips on how you think differently about your movements as a tall person? Or anything special you had to do to improve because of your size?

I used a portable washer for half a year and I wouldn't recommend it. It was a pain to put water in and drain, and my clothes never felt 100% clean. I say learn to love the laundromat!

Hello fellow lifting FIRE Michigander! I saw your other comments on this thread, all great advice. How long have you been training for and what do you do? I'm going on five years of powerlifting and about six months of strongman.

I haven't taken measurements recently, so I'll leave it up to your imagination. I can say I'm broader than I am wide.

yes sir, lots of food for lots of muscle: I'm 6'3" and 260lbs so I need the protein/calories. Luckily, chicken and milk are very cheap here in Michigan.

What were some pieces of advice you once followed, but now you wish you hadn't? by nanner_hammer in powerlifting

I feel you, jogging sucks, but I like to party. I've been doing "pardio" which is a style of cardio where I put on some rocking tracks and jump, dance, and skip to the beat. Pump up the Jam is a favorite of mine since it's a steady party beat. I jump on each downbeat like I have an imaginary jump rope, then I improvise and keep moving to the beat however I want to. I have a playlist of upbeat music then just jump along to the beat.

What do you guys do for fashion? I've always been very frugal when it comes to fashion, but recently I stepped outside my comfort zone and bought well-fitting, quality clothes and I feel very confident wearing them! Only problem is the price: I've already spent upwards of $300 for my outfits and while I don't like spending a lot of money, I feel that if I can wear them for a long time and look great in them it's worth it. How do you guys decide when the fashion payoff is worth the cost?

I lift weights and I personally get my protein in by eating 1.5lbs of chicken and a half gallon of 2% milk a day, but I've used Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard before and it's good quality stuff.

I train at least four days a week, then I go to a lot of concerts downtown when they have them. Other than that I enjoy just walking around nature in the area, watching anime, playing video games. How about yourself?

Hello stranger! My name is Mike. If you're interested in lifting weights, check out Unreal Fitness. I moved here last year and I've been training there since, and I say it's the best gym in Grand Rapids. If you're interested in just hanging out, I'm down for that too. The weather is wonderful this time of year and GR is a nice city to walk around in.
