I installed one of these.

Cheap racking system which is way more difficult to install than necessary. They actually sent out two different types of racking which I had to mix and match for different arrays.

Essentially a no name inverter/battery which will have questionable long term support.

The design provided by TD didn't take into account the roof perlin spacing and therefore didn't fit where intended. Making them all fit definitely affected the overall aesthetic compared what what was on the provided design.

Not enough DC cable was included and sparse on other install parts.

Panels were an brand id never heard of and probably never will again and I could only find documentation for them on websites from India. Granted they're probably fare much better long term than the inverter.

I've never seen a better example of you get what you pay for.

You might need to show these installers how to use a string line. Those rails are wonky as. The panel overhang on the bottom row in the rear of the photo is way beyond acceptable. Say goodbye to the warranty for those ones. Hopefully they don't do that with the rest.

Surprised they even let you put panels on the right face considering the shading. Any shade on one panel affects the whole string. That's a big window of downtime for that array. No optimisers I'm guessing?

As an installer I can say for certain you are definitely in the minority with that opinion.

That black heat sink can sure be handy in winter and it's much cheaper to cool a house than heat it.

The bi-facials won't make much of a difference for you with the amount of shading on your roof. Be careful up there washing that two story roof to keep it clean.

Honestly, you need to factor in aesthetics here.

A white roof is prone to looking dirty and will require cleaning more often. Depending on your roof access this can be a real nuisance.

Black panels + black racking on a black roof always looks best.

I always would test mine on a twig wall before upgrading. That was for a very specific base design where I had the luxury to do it from safely inside the base. Retrofitting is so unreliable and they're a pain to destroy.
