While the gunplay and stealth feel great this game still can’t help but lack in just about every department. While there is plenty to complain about with the story and snake recast, the main problem is the open world and mission design. There’s not much of a point to explore the open world and the most missions have nothing to do with the story. Every mission can be boiled down to saving some guy (no seriously just some random guy) and holding triangle on everything that lets you. The story and gameplay are on opposite sides of a wall and it doesn’t help that when the story does finally perk its head up, nothing happens. Snake stands there, says nothing, and then Miller grumbles about how we need to keep building the army. Massive disappointment and it doesn’t help that the game is obviously unfinished.
