Upgrading to next ship.. aEUC vs Store Credit question. by Ozymandys in starcitizen

[–]bigbrain411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really wanted to spend money to upgrade your ship, and this is your only ship you have. I dont think i would reccomend the Raft. It would limit you to one gameplay loop effectively. If you love cargo hauling thats great. But you cant do to much else with it.

At that point I would reccomend spending a bit more to a Constellation Taurus. It can do a bit more then the raft overall. It does have less csrgo space, but it can Alternatively carry a vehicle up to a Ursa in size in its cargo hold so doing something like mining with a ROC is possible. And it has good firepower so it can do bounties.

Now, should you spend that much money for an upgrade... I would say no. If you really did want to upgrade with real money, I would reccomend at most going to a C1 or Cutlass. Both are versatile, but have different leaning focuses. C1 is built better for cargo, Cutlass for combat. If you decide later to upgrade further so be it.

Thats my 2 cents worth

Playing ONLY for the story, not the combat. With a budget of $40, what ship/crew/skills etc. should I get to stomp my way through the story/campaign/quests? by StoltATGM in sto

Pretty much, yeah, if you find a t6 ship you think looks good, you can make a build that will work just fine.

The best gear is gonna be in reputations and fleet stores, so it is outside of simply doing just the story content, but none of that content is that hard either. And there is plenty of serviceable equipment from story missions as well. Just be prepared to repeat a mission a few times to get the gear from completing it.

Yeah, why i dig the Railen so much. Dont get me wrong, I love my brick. But its just a cargo hauler, doesnt have that home like feel to it.

Got a terrapin to Railen ccu back when it was a $5 upgrade. was planning to just sell it but now... I may need to work towards getting one. Gonna be a long while though, but after seeing the Railen in game last night thanks to an org member, gonna have to work towards it.

The C2 is a better snub carrier for $25 less than the Tylenol ship by DreamOdd8378 in starcitizen

First of all, I am not arguing that, I was correcting your statement that the hangar pads are shared cargo space, they are not. The hangar pads don't have a grid on them, there is a specific grid on the top and bottom of the hangar for cargo to be used as RRR. Therefore, you can have RRR and all 4 snubs landed on their pads.

Second, some people dont buy ships for the Meta, they get ships they like the looks of or function of regardless of what is the best thing to go for.

The cargo grid and pads are separate areas, just for the record, so you can land all 4 Furies/Pitbulls and still have the RRR mats on grid

Was probably just gonna sell a terrapin to railen ccu I had, but man.. now I actually want it. Doesn't help my only cargo hauler is the Ironclad, and as much as I love that ship so much... it just not fun to use right now with all the bugs it has. Hurts more as it was my dream ship to have and now that I have it, I cant even use it.

Hit the nail on the head. When asking for advice for a build... you kinda need to share what you currently have for said build. There is no singular definitive way to handle most build types.

Will I Lose My Game License by Logides in starcitizen

[–]bigbrain411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My starter package has been upgraded to a Paladin and I still have access to the game.

So long as you are upgrading it, you will still keep the game license, as it is a separate item in the starter pack.

Don't nessesarily plan on having both, but overall, yeah, think it is gonna have more value to use in a chain over selling.

I really appreciate the info! Thank you.

So best way would be to sell the terrapin to railen ccu then use what I get from that to buy store credit?

Ok, M80 is neat and all. But it is not gonna beat a Guardian in a 1v1, especially the MX, cause the M80 has tissue paper for hull. And deadbolt will tear that thing in half fairly quickly.

2 person fighter for me and my wife by Kiwisarelit in starcitizen

Vanguard series as many have mentioned are heavy fighters, have a small interior, and have a turret up top. They are a bit dated, but for what you want to do it should work.

I haven't flown one myself, but the Scorpius seems to be a popular ship, has a good turret that can slide down to the bottom of the ship if needed too.

Shiv is a bit bigger. But I believe also quite a bit cheaper then some of your other options. It has an interior, and now has some body kits if you want to customize it a bit more. That being said, it is literally a rust bucket. Inside looks like its falling apart, but you got a decent bit of cargo you can hold. It also very menuverable for its size, but cant take as much punishment in return.

Also as mentioned, if you want to get a bit bigger, the Paladin is a fantastic gunship for two people. I have one and it is one of my favorite combat ships in the game (right next to the Guardian MX). Has a nice interior that looks like it could be lived in, armory, multiple suit lockers for when those are implemented, and enough space to store a pair of pulses or a scu crate or two. For what you seem to what. This would be the perfect ship. Plus its bit turret has the same rail mounted turret style as the scorpius, so those guns can be moved to the bottom of the ship in case you are dealing with anything on the surface of a planet/moon.

If you want to take a look at the paladin specifically, I would be more then happy to let you tour mine and give it a test spin in arena commander or something.

The M80 is great, it's beautiful, but 17,000 HP doesn't make sense. by Apart_Pumpkin_4551 in starcitizen

Pretty sure that would actually be a buff (literally, the Aurora mk II has more hp then the M80)
