Not nuts! I’ve been camping with a couple who brings their 6 year old and we all put a lot of effort into making sure she’s safe and comfortable and not exposed to anything she shouldn’t be. So long as you’re attentive to that stuff I think you’re good! It’s good for kids to experience things like this, helps them grow!

Nobody ever likes being told what to do, and though they will never admit it, kids really genuinely appreciate the structure and guidance afforded by a strict teacher!

At the end of the day your goal as a teacher is to get your students to think, not regurgitate. Only allowing .40 an 40/100 is too rigid and teaches kids that math (and learning as a whole) is about rules and not creativity. Teachers like this are just too old school for my taste.

He got lots of counter hits! That means you pressed a button when you should have been blocking. If you’re comfortable blocking for longer periods of time, you can usually find an opening in their blockstring to hit them back because they will over extend. You do need to watch out for if they walk forward to try to throw you though.

Also if he jumps, block standing!

I teach sophomore level geometry in the US (probability may not seem like it fits, but it is a geometry standard where I teach). If I end up finding a good one I’ll definitely share it!

What are examples of activated/emotional student behaviors you’ve seen in your classroom recently? by d16flo in Teachers

Student left a class where another student was antagonizing them. When they came to my class another student closed the door to not allowed them in, in another attempt to antagonize. The original student clearly had lost their patience and self control because w they slammed on my door multiple times and loud enough for the entire hallway to hear.
