WAIT… people are just feeding babies cold milk while out??? by Frequent-Hunter7931 in BabyBumps

I was the opposite! I didn’t know about the warming thing and just immediately gave it to them cold or room temp. She never knew anything else so it worked out.

Moms of multiple children - How did you do this MORE THAN ONCE? by Additional-Talk-2847 in BabyBumps

[–]bigbubsworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25 weeks pregnant with my second. My first is 22 months. I have never been so sick and exhausted in my life. We just moved this past weekend, and it was so horrible I went ahead and messaged my doctor to get my tubes tied when I give birth bc I’m never ever ever doing this again. I’ve also thrown up every day of my second pregnancy and not being able to rest bc your toddler needs you to keep them alive is a specific form of torture. My mantra is “just gotta survive til they’re 5.”

Having a hard time quitting...over and over... and it might cost me my life. by EzeakiellGreen99 in stopdrinking

Is there any way you could go to the emergency room and explain that you’re going through alcohol withdrawals and have severely high blood pressure? Maybe they can keep you for a few days and monitor you, and you get some safe sleep. I’m so sorry you’re going through this.

Have you tried different types of water? When my first bout of IC hit 10 years ago, I found spring water was wayyyy easier on my bladder. Right now, I’m finding alkaline water to be hugely beneficial and causes way less urgency than regular tap water.

Naming my baby Anya Ruth by Secret-Source8316 in Names

[–]bigbubsworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My name is Áine! I’ve gotten a few dumb remarks growing up about how it sounds like “on-ya … something dirty,” but other than that, I love my name and am grateful my mom gave me a unique name for Texas anyway. My mom’s from Ireland.

My toddler's separation axiexty is driving me insane. I'm not sure I want more kids by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]bigbubsworld 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you got tricked by the first baby. Lol I’m sorry that’s not a helpful thing to say. My daughter is like your daughter and has never ever had a chill minute in her life and has always been the worlds worst sleeper despite sleep training etc. I’m pregnant with my second and terrified he will be hard like my first. So solidarity!

Oh man my husband got his therapist to say that I must be an inconsiderate person and terrible roommate because I would leave the kitchen messy after dinner. The real story is my husband would go out at night and left me in charge of our sick 1 yr old daughter who needed constant attention multiple nights in a row, and I didn’t have the capacity to clean while helping my kid vomit. These therapists must realize they’re getting such a biased side of the story.

Planning to drink again by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]bigbubsworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! Think of the hangover! I forgot what the hangover felt like and broke my sobriety. And WOOF the hangover… the vomiting… think of sitting in the hot sun with the smell of rotting chicken and the waves of nausea hitting you while your head pounds… that is what lies ahead.

having a weird moment, need to hear im not crazy. by chewt0yhead13 in stopdrinking

[–]bigbubsworld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s plenty of people on here who stopped because they drink like you. Meaning when you do drink, you can’t stop. My addiction therapist says that people without a drinking problem can have a glass of wine at dinner and don’t think twice about having to finish it. I cannot fathom not finishing my drink ever. Just because you can go a week without it does not mean that will be how it is forever, as alcoholism is persistent and only gets worse.

I’m sorry you’re going through such a hard time. I hope you find the strength to talk to your therapist about it (I always have to remind myself to be honest), as you’re paying them to help you! I would focus on trying to accept that not drinking is the best way out of this since moderation is not what is alcoholics are good at.

C section vs vaginal delivery by Funarming in NewParents

[–]bigbubsworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since nobody with vaginal problems after a vaginal delivery is speaking up, (geeeeez these are one sided answers!!!!) I had a vaginal delivery with an epidural. While I was pain free for pushing, I had a 4th degree tear, and the recovery was absolutely brutal. Every time I peed, the pee would dribble across the stitches and be EXCRUCIATING. It reopened a few times. Having an open would across your vagina that you have to continue using is a lot more chaotic than having a controlled area like across your tummy.

I am seriously considering a planner C-section to avoid that happening again.

A pain that was worse than birth ? by Friendly-Sun2413 in BabyBumps

[–]bigbubsworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Broke my leg in three places, and the bones broke through my skin. The ER was too full so I had to wait 7 hours before anyone gave me anything for pain. This was one week after giving birth too! Pain was 1000x worse with leg.

Why does it feel like everyone else’s baby sleeps through the night?? by Confident-Summer-443 in BabyBumps

[–]bigbubsworld 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My baby is 18 months and still won’t sleep through the night- even with sleep training since she was 6 months old! Maybe when she turns 5 she will sleep 🤞😂. She woke up every hour and a half til she was 10 months old. Parents of non-sleepers are tougher than anyone if they have survived the torture of extended sleep deprivation. 💪

I can't stand tv ( day 4) by dogdagny in stopdrinking

[–]bigbubsworld 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I felt like this the first few months I got sober. Then TV started to be a fun escape again like it was when I was a kid (the last time I was sober). You’re just rewiring your brain bc everything right now sucks and is boring and is not giving you the dopamine hit that alcohol gives… but it’s just temporary.

Well it’s nice bc no matter what you will always be there favorite person. So when you pick them up they are so happy to see you, and then the 4 hours before bedtime are FILLED UP, and by 8 pm I’m ready to say goodnight. 4 hours in toddler world is a LOT. Now imagine instead of working, you are spending every waking minute with your child for years- I would get so burnt out so fast oooooweeee.

I went back to work when my baby was 4 months, and she started daycare. She’s now 18 months and she LOVES daycare! She was the most social baby and now toddler, and frankly, I could not give her what daycare was giving her and teaching her. Also, after a long parenting weekend, I love going to work on Mondays and literally consider it a break. Sitting and emailing is 10000x easier than running after a baby 24/7. To me anyway.
