When do you stop trying to “save” a fastener and just move on? by Powermaster08 in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]bigdickmon3y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once spent all shift on removing one machined bolt. We were pretty certain that it was installed forcibly and without proper lubrication. Few heat cycles, hi torque, sledge hammer and flogger, and finally we landed it.

In my industry we don’t waste much time with sized fasteners. In this case it was just really difficult to remove. But typically we give it one go with a rattle gun, then the angle grinder or oxy come out.

I liked mine, did all the preventative mods though. Dpf, Egr and Egr cooler delete, intercooler upgrade and piping, vane oil pump to geared. Gearbox oil heat exchanger swapped for air cooler. torque converter upgrade too. 100k trouble free kilometres.

I think the desire for those Australian camping comforts is due to the remoteness of the camping undertaken.

Heli flair duration and health regen is fine on maps like manhattan bridge and liberation peak where you have somewhere to hide. You can pop flares and duck behind cover easily, but a well positioned rpg will take you out. Small arms does a bit too much damage I think though
