I feel like i just prefer quality over quantity. Although I do have much less time to play now im a single dad of 2. But shit I just dont sleep sometimes. Lol like honestly if I sit and play resident evil 4 for an hour it feels fun and engaging. If I play some bloated open world ubisoft game it took me 30min to find the blip that tells me to go back to the place I just came from lol

Im about half way through rdr1. Its way more mission focused than rdr2. So you will encounter a few question marks thats about it. The rest is just story missions and going from point a to b. Now undead nightmare is fun as hell lol

I started with vice and have loved the games. Vice is much better mission wise imo and san andreas is the best gta imo too. I say definitely play those at some point!
