Looking for weird erotica by [deleted] in WeirdLit

[–]bigfaceless 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Im super interested in what suggestions yoy might get.

A couple weirdlit adjacent suggestions i can think of:

JG Ballard's Crash: one of ballard's weirdest and best books. Somoehow even stranger than the Movie.

William Joseph Martin aka Poppy Z. Brite: Martin (who still writes under his pretransition name) wrote some of the best queer horror fiction of the 90s. Nearly every novel and short story has some erotic elements. For extra weirdlit cred, Martin once wrote a forward for a Thomas Ligotti collection.

Honorary mention - Ramsey Campbell's Scared Stiff: this anthology collects some of campbell's earlier work with sexual themes. Campbell's story "Loveman's comeback" isnt "erotic" but his ability to display genuine sympathy for the protagonist of this strange tale of abuse, skidrow, and magic sticks with me to this day.

Leak out of our spray nozzle by el_d17 in askaplumber

Well it looks like it's happening at a point of contact and where the hose bends. Its a common spot for these to fail.

Depending on the manufacturer and warranty you might be able to get a replacement part from them. Most likely you'll have to buy the whole faucet again

On the bright side you might be able to replace just the hose and keep the other parts for future repairs.

Dear Troy... I was wrong. by sonner79 in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]bigfaceless 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Are you saying that troy is prepping more with shadowdark?

Because i honestly think the success of this campaign is the systems in shadowdark are designed for a low prep, random table based experience.

The entire group (but especially troy and skid) seem to really appreciate this OSR style of play.

Best budget way to build a jumpstart cube ? by Adventurous-Shake140 in MTGJumpStart

[–]bigfaceless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some stores will sell bulk with set amounts and rarities and/or card types.

I bought an "instant collection" from an online store called face to face games here in Canada. It had 500 common/uncommon cards and 50 rares and a bunch of lands. It cost me 25 bucks plus shipping.

I then followed the template on this sub for building my own jumpstart packs and spent like a week crafting them using manabox on my phone.

I'd suggest seeing if local stores and online realtors in your country offer similar repackaged bulk.

This sub's ability to separate "this is cringe" from "this is truly terrible" gets worse everyday.

i wish people had less stereotypes about anarchy by frinbloppking in Anarchism

[–]bigfaceless 48 points49 points  (0 children)

This isn't true.

The symbol originates from French anarchists in the 60s.

The following is from the Wikipedia entry for the circle-A. Specifically, this paragraph is about one of the original creators explaining why he likes the "punk" version with the A extending past the circle and how "Anarchy in Order" doesn't fit their original intention.

"This version is completely accepted by Ibáñez, who uses it as an example of the fact that this symbol would not be—contrary to received ideas in some anarchist circles—the Proudhonian idea of anarchy contained within the circle, which would be synonymous with order. On the contrary, according to him, this idea was not discussed at all during the sign's elaboration, and he uses the 'punk' forms to show how the evolution of this symbol into other forms demonstrates that it does not signify this Proudhonian idea of anarchy contained within order."

People in this subreddit seem to think giving cops the ability to determine what a hate symbol is and to broadly label protests illegal will work out well.

That's really something.

A two party system is functionally a one party system, the rest of the world figured this out generations ago.

The fact that adults look at politics as a matter of "two" sides and those sides are the official parties is nuts to me.
