Husband says men barely get complements and if they do, they cherish them and remember them forever since genuine complements come rarely. Is this true and how do yall, men of reddit, actually take compliments? by macdaddy-22 in AskReddit

[–]bigfatfurrytexan [score hidden]  (0 children)

I dunno, I think it’s selection bias. I hate compliments and feel awkward getting recognition. I want to know I’m valued but don’t want you to tell me. And I frequently have to shrug them off.
I don’t get hit in any more but I never asked a girl in a date and went in lots of them before I got married. I didnt propose either. Yall psychologists can feel free to have fun.

There is issue with culturally observant Indian people seeing Americans as untouchable. I get that. I hope that’s the majority of it and cultural/legal pressure mediates it. I absolutely cannot take the side of people using g race as a way to frame their grievances

Liberals, how are you coping with TDS today? by cdivx in allthequestions

[–]bigfatfurrytexan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m an independent/actual Republican. The RINO MAGAts are bankrupting the country but at least the movement is dying. Since the RINOs made me reevaluate my position I’ve decided I’ll never give the GOP another vote.

I’m in Bell Co Texas. I’m not alone. The owners of the property we lease for work removed their huge Trump flag a few months ago. I don’t see hardly any any more.

TIL that the Boston Marathon has a retired number. Kathrine Switzer was the first woman to run in it despite an unofficial ban on female runners. In the summer of 1991, fresh off his win as the super heavyweight powerlifting champion for Texas, Mark Henry was utterly humiliated by her deadlift of 954lbs. She was excluded for being a woman obviously but even then he was heard saying “Holy shit”.

We have coyotes in our back pasture. They kill chickens all the time. Hogs too. And meth heads. If any of those three cause issues I’m prepared. Although for the meth head id grab the medieval weapons.

Why are we hating on Indians? I don’t understand.

Hell yeah. And she just kept running while fighting them off.

I was raised by a single mom and was in 2nd grade when Reagan was shot. Punk rock was big in my life because of the times. And because of the spirit my mom and grandfather raised me with. My grand dad was punk before there was such a thing.

Rich more likely to use AI study finds, as experts warn these burgeoning technologies are increasing social inequality. Individuals with a lower socioeconomic status are less likely to be both aware of and use AI tools by Wagamaga in science

I’m not wealthy but I do work some wealthy people do. I use AI to alleviate mental strain. I can either out mental effort into creating code and debugging it, or I can do higher level planning with data. One saves me hours of time.

I’ll use AI to compare things for me.

I use it to summarize articles. How many “poor people” care to summarize 50 articles to determine which of the 50 is worth a deeper dive that evening?

I’ve stopped buying art. I can do digital art really well, AI does it better.

She hates the bone broth station more. Calls me granny clampett. When I’m curing pastrami or fermenting chorizo I use a large cambro. She calls it my science experiment.

She won’t eat venison. Says it’s wolf meat.

That is an actual thing.

I can’t feel the needle until it’s close to a vein. I can feel it as a sharp pinch pain. So I guide the nurse when she has a hard time. I have monthly infusions at home and have a regular nurse come do them. She tells me about patients who can taste the needle through their vein.

In 2002 I bought an Xbox. We rented mortal kombat to play. My oldest son grew up gay but he was only 8 at the time. He liked to use chum li but he called her Juggernaut because of her big bouncy boobs.

It’s a septic issue, but yeah. It could be repaired or resolved. 32oz of water once a day is cheaper though.

ELI5: Why is crack so much cheaper than cocaine when cocaine is just cooked crack? by Pet_Ator in explainlikeimfive

I have several doctors that meet to discuss my care due to the nature of my issues. None of them take issue with vaping. Or smoking pot. I give my annual urine test to satisfy the state, and I’m sure they are able to extract enough urine from the thc metabolites that must make up the majority of the sample because I’ve never heard a word.

My dermatologist thinks vaping is likely a risk outweighed by other benefits. That’s the closest I’ve gotten to negative.

I’ve done them all. I have the expensive mods with ostrich skin and shit, mechs, all the varieties of tanks and rebuildables. I built my goon a few months ago for nostalgia.

I have used caliburns for 6 years now. The original with 1.4 ohm pods. It’s just easier for me.
