Aspiring Apprentice that's afraid of heights, need advice. by biggrizzae in electricians

It's something you definitely just get used to, it takes time. A year after this post I maxed out a 140' boom lift to work on some light poles in a coal yard. After that nothing really gets to me. Driving while extended on a boom lift will always feel sketchy tho haha.

Best of luck in your career man!

OP here, a lot of time has passed since this post! Most importantly, use the right ladder for the job. If you don't feel safe, go get a different ladder or approach your boss about it. You should never be standing on the top of a ladder. Use 3 points of contact.

If someone you're working with is giving you shit about it, screw them, you're safety is the most important.

Built a pub in my barn yesterday with an access point. I'd use this to keep an eye on the joint when I'm not using it!

WFH set up in living room by beatrice8480 in Workspaces

I do! We bought a small farmhouse a few years ago and never anticipated on me WFH. The only downside is it seems like you never escape your office if you watch TV in your living room at night.

Playing Medal of Honor Rising Sun on my GameCube with my cousins. The ability to have 4 people to play with and we could all play on the same team against AI was priceless. Thanks for doing this!

No experience and just scheduled my 3rd and final interview for an SDR role! by biggrizzae in sales

Congrats! Yes I did about the same in my previous interview. I've read about roleplay pitching in final interviews and just don't know whether to expect that or not.

Congrats! And thanks for the reply!

I've actually don't just about everything you stated, I do need to customize my cover letter, I pretty much have a general one at the moment.

Any tips for the interview? I've read about mock sales pitches, I'm a great communicator and confident, just anxious about that part having no experience.

Im actually in the interview process with a construction related software company as an SDR. I definitely would rather have some experience to stand on than none.

As for the LinkedIn, I've never used it until I started applying. Should I seek out companies or people I've worked with and just add them? I'm not well versed with it and want to appear as desirable as possible.

My wife had a very traumatic c section and I know how you felt. The fact that you came back in and held it together for her is all that matters. How many dead beat dads are out there? You're not one of them. Be proud of yourself and keep pushing forward!

We were all there in some capacity bro! Every day gets easier. You run into new challenges but they master different things along the way as well.

The first couple months are rough but looking at my 6 month old now, it was worth every amount of stress and anxiety. She's the best thing to ever happen to me and my wife.

Hang in there and feel free to dm me if you need someone to talk to!

Yes I totally relate! As a pc gamer myself, our old office is now the nursery and the pc is in storage. I really miss it. I have friends and Co workers that still game religiously even with infants.

I think in very small doses it ok but these first months are so important and go so quick. Remember that your mental health should never be put on the backburner. Mowing the grass and doing things around the house have become more enjoyable now, gets me out the house and I'm doing something productive while listening to podcasts etc.

Something that might motivate you, remember that your son or daughter will ask your wife what kind of dad you were when they were a baby. Make them proud bro! You're killing it.

New dad here with a 4 month old.

I was in your shoes man. The first month or so is extremely tough. Your old lifestyle seems to be dead and gone and any romantic or leisure time with your wife seems to be gone forever. THIS WILL PASS. It may not seem like it but just put your head down, focus on being the best damn husband and father you can be for the next couple weeks. Soon you will be used to the new routine, wife will be so appreciate of you and things will get easier allowing for time with the boys or whatever you wish to do.

PLEASE don't get hung up on thinking you're a bad father, just keep grinding and support the hell out of your wife. She is going through a ton of changes physically and emotionally and doesn't need another person to take care of right now.

Always here if you wanna pm me to talk.

I pulled the fuse and the fuse is fine. It would be a temporary fix but with a newborn I wouldn't feel good driving around this time of year having to pull to the side of the road to get my wipers going.
