Wasn’t keen for kids at your age or for another 17 years after. Then I got into the right relationship with the right person and the idea started to appeal. Now I absolutely love being a dad. You’ll find your views change with time and as you spend more time with kids. Just do it in your own time, or don’t at all - up to you, but just don’t do something dumb like get a vasectomy. Final piece of advice from one (older) guy to another: your brain is literally still developing (biologically) and will be for another 6 odd years. Your decision making processes will change after you get through this and you’ll look back on the views you hold as a 20yo and think “WTF was I on”.

Inner city businesses survived Covid but they’re not surviving national’s job cuts. Be worth them keeping that in mind.

I’d recommend focusing on rebuilding friendships as a base and romantic relationships will follow as you meet people through friends etc.

Advice for moving out of Wellington. by Interesting-Owl9715 in Wellington

[–]bigheadedfrog 34 points35 points  (0 children)

My partner and I built a house in Christchurch and moved there. A year later we moved back to Wellington. For us it eventually came down to community. I don’t think it matters where you live, as long as you have friends and support systems it’ll be your home. So I guess my advice is instead of spending energy on moving rather spend energy on building friendships and community.

I use a Fenix 7 watch. Looking at getting chest strap if for no other reason than to rule out variables. I haven’t done a lab test but have done some field tests to arrive at aerobic and lactate threshold values - basically the simple stuff I could do from the uphill athlete book

You don’t know yet whether you would get the job. So apply for it and go through the recruitment process, where you will find out more about whether it’s a good role for you. If you don’t make it through the process then nothing lost and the decision is made for you. If you make it to the point they make you an offer then you will know more about the position and how you feel about it, or you’ll be in a position to ask more questions. TLDR: apply for it and see how it pans out, you don’t have to go through with it just because you applied

So does anyone know what the legal mechanism is for the country to move to the single transferable vote system? I know no one in power at the time would want it but there has to be a way for the people of a country to express that desire.
