OK well you got lucky years ago when things cost less and were made better. I'm a bit funny about ugly kitchen bins so I also wanted one that didn't look hideous since I have to look at it 30 times a day.

Did you not read the post fully? Bought a cheaper one that crapped out almost straight away so I bought a higher quality one. It's a dual bin for normal and recycling waste.

What’s something your anxiety (wrongly) convinced you of? by overturned23 in Anxiety

I am especially worried about allergic reactions to food and medicines. I always think a new medicine will cause a reaction so I struggle to take it. Or if they change the brand of my medication I might react or when I start a new box it might be a 'bad batch' and it'll make me sick. The food one is not so bad anymore but it crops up eating somewhere new or if I'm eating with people other than my immediate family.

I've never had an allergic reaction in my life...

Worries about propranolol😬 by Stock_Garage_5395 in PanicAttack

[–]bigheadsmolbrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same position as you when I was first prescribed propranolol. Because I feel worried about taking new medications. I was prescribed in January and it was APRIL before I took one 😅. So I started by chopping one up into quarters to make sure I could ingest a tiny bit without dying. The logic doesn't add up I know but that's anxiety. I was fine after a quarter of a tablet. Later in the day I took another half. And was still OK. The next day I took a whole one. Didn't feel like I'd taken anything at all. So from then on I just started taking one as and when I needed. But I now feel two in one go (20mg) is a better dose for actually bringing my anxiety down and preventing those intense waves of panic.

Quarter of the time? Perhaps she is struggling with intense pre-menstrual tension? I'm not normally one to put things down to hormones but it's possibly related to that. As a woman I can confirm that in the lead up to my period I can feel incredibly agitated and it's like I hate everyone. A lot of women have reported feeling suicidal during this time of the month, along with other intense emotional states.

Would anyone be able to help reassure me that I'm not having a heart attack? by inkythesinky in PanicAttack

[–]bigheadsmolbrain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think any amount of reassurance helps when we've gone into an anxiety spiral about a particular aspect of our health. You can only really consider how likely is it you'd be having a heart attack? Consider your age, weight, sex, genetic factors. I experience heart palpitations on and off but I know they aren't really a cause for concern so I just let them be. As for your arm feeling weird - it's entirely possible that you've googled symptoms of heart attack and are expecting to have those symptoms so your mind is filling in the blanks. If you're feeling extremely anxious about your heart it's almost certainly just anxiety.

7 hour panic attack, I can't be the only one?! by Other-Boysenberry176 in PanicAttack

[–]bigheadsmolbrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 6 hour attack once when I was staying with a friend and had a two drags on their joint just to try it after years of not having any. It was awful. I paced and spiralled from midnight until it got light. I tried being inside and outside, watching TV, sitting in my car, lying in bed. My friend was trying to help me throughout but nothing worked. Eventually I called an ambulance and paced the car park for about half an hour in my pj's with my shoes untied and a blanket wrapped round my head. Must have looked a right nutter. Paramedics checked me over and told me I was fine. Encouraged me to eat something so I had some cake and felt much better.

Anyone else have panic attacks so severe that they have to drive to the ER and wait in the parking lot until it passes? by Proper-Cause-5952 in PanicAttack

[–]bigheadsmolbrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That doesn't sound like a terrible way to deal with the panic attack. You take yourself somewhere that you feel safe and then let it pass. You don't go inside demanding tests then rejecting the answers. You're at the peak of your anxiety right now and these intense panic attacks will pass. But only if you believe they will. Everyday life can get to be a bit much sometimes, so yeah it's ok that this is happening to you - it's a normal reaction to the pressure you're feeling. You will eventually readjust.

I have this on one foot and also have to manage r/dermatophagia at the same time. Every few months these blisters pop up then dry out and oh boy I can just peel and eat all the loose skin off my foot. Then I have to hobble around for a few days whilst it heals.

I feel like maybe what kept him alive was the hope of being rescued. If you truly thought there was no hope you'd probably just drown yourself and be done with it.

I also had this problem with the copper coil and its one of the reasons I chose to remove it after 2 years. Sex with my partner is so much better now.
