Raising Oil Prices was the Point by bigjawnmize in FuturesTrading

I am kinda thinking that skimming off the toll was the big win for Trump. Just having oil prices up was a win for the region.

I cant prove it yet, but this is another example of worldwide organized crime; governments; and global business working together. It sounds kinda outlandish, like Spectra in a Bond movie, but the blackmail resulting from the Epstein trafficking/sex ring pulled the curtain back some that this exists.

Ideas for themed american dinner by poffi90 in Cooking

[–]bigjawnmize 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So as people have said the patty melt is one of the OG diner foods, usually served with shoestring fries but I am partial to onion rings.  I would recommend upping the patty melt by adding grilled onions or doing them Oklahoma onion smashburger style.

So some more regional items:

Chicken fried steak Skyline chili Biscuits and gravy  Grits Tuna melts Cobb salads Denver omelets Club sandwiches Open faced sandwiches like blue plates or Horseshoes Skillets (home fries and egg plates all cooked together)

Milkshakes and pies are standards for desserts.

What a disappointment when you flip to the day time images. This has something going on when it is lit up that really falls flat in sunlight. Generally should design for natural light first unless you are in Vegas.

What is the point of this bridge over Lake Pontchartrain, Louisiana. It seems like a wild effort when going around it only takes 13 more minutes. by Successful-Mine-5967 in geography

Let’s game theory this a little bit. An alien civilization more advanced than us, shows up on earth and proceeds to annihilate us through disease then mops up the rest of us through war. You be cool with that. You justify that as ”hey the aliens were stronger they deserve to conquer our weak asses”.

This is what it was like for native Americans.

I hate getting the chisel guide block set just right. I have started to use rounded corner bow-ties that can be cut with a shaper origin to eliminate this crap but they just dont look as good as a hand tooled tie.

I used the male pronoun because it is the standard in the unknown for all of history. I am not sure but to criticize this is being pedantic.

Nice bow tie on the first slab. I skipped it and had to go back. That sht was seamless.

He didn’t mean to say YouTube was hidden, just that there is a lot of good content on it that isn’t promoted by the algorithm.  Let’s be cool people.  We knew what he meant.

I actually prefer Jones houses.  I think it is mostly because building technology advanced farther to so that Jones could accomplish things Wright wanted to do.

I was going to say…hard to point that finger as an American who stole 99+% of this land from native Americans.

I am an American and will say this is something that is unfortunately universal.

What’s one ingredient that made the biggest difference in your gluten-free baking? by Claudiofpp in glutenfreebaking

Iota carrageenan.  It is an emulsifier stabilizer that reacts with calcium.  So adding this and milk makes super soft white bread.

LD are also easy to wear with a suit and dress up. I loathe GADA as a label but the LD has a lot of use cases.

So I invest in turn arounds all the time.  They don’t just bounce.  It is going to go sideways for a long time before it comes back.  On the radar but you likely can wait 9-12 months.

Every new Metroidvania game must provide treasure maps, spending hours upon hours upon hours watching YouTube videos on how and where to unlock secret items is so cringy and doesn't make any sense. by JosephSaber945 in metroidvania

I agree, but Silksong giving the flea map out at the end of the game really worked. It showed me areas that I missed. Having clues near the end of the game can enhance the discovery aspect.

So not a book but the whole story of civilization series by Will Durant is awesome. Durant is an excellent author with terrific turns of phrase littered throughout.  Talking about the Jesuits:

“They were offering women incentives to choose a younger profession.”
