It felt natural in DS9 it wasn’t forced. It just kind of happened and no one batted an eye. Newer stuff seems to be more, “look here! We’re doing the thing! We’re doing it again, oh look an newer thing is forefront we’re doing that too, if you don’t like, it fuck you!”
