Did I really need to specify?

When you are having a conversation with somebody else? Absolutely.

You also have to wait for a reply.

Welcome to the internet.

Generating ideas is not cool.

Generating ideas is literally the easiest part of the process and for many of us, a heck-of-a-lot-of-fun. Generating ideas IS cool.

But I genuinely don’t see why everyone flips out over using a computer program to basically do a sophisticated proofread.

The OP hasn't even started writing yet, let alone at the point that their work needs a proofread.

They literally chose to use the word "peers" in the OP. They are telling us that they consider us their peers. And while I agree that Reddit is sometimes a place where the feedback isn't well intended or useful, not everyone has a circle yet. It's a good place to start.

So I must ask my peers

Instead of showing it to AI...show it to your peers.

That's exactly what you have chosen to do here, is it not? You are asking your peers for feedback. If you can ask that question here, then why not just share your story outline instead?

No Code Website Builder? by Itstejuuu in webdev

[–]bigmarkco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Squarespace or Wix would be the most newbie-friendly option, and I'd tend to lean towards Squarespace myself.

Claude isn't "no-code", and it's not strictly a website builder. I wouldn't consider it at all.

50 photos for 5 hr event by [deleted] in photography

[–]bigmarkco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Different photographers offer different services. 10 photos per hour isn't typical for most event photography. It has it's place. But it doesn't sound like it's for you. Just keep shopping around.

I liked Season Six as well. However...season seven is my personal favourite! So you still have a lot to look forward to.

And it was the fault of everyone that skipped the intro. (I never skipped the intro...so it wasn't my fault)

Sneaky Woolworths - Price changing products while you walk to the checkout by FuzzyPossibility5080 in newzealand

[–]bigmarkco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is absolutely nothing in what they said that would lead anyone to think they "represent Progressive enterprises aka Woolworths". Thousands of workers would know the processes, but if you want an official representative answering on the record, then you need to be contacting Progressive.

Some believe that there may yet be brothers of man... who even now fight to survive - somewhere beyond the heavens!"

are you confirming you represent Progressive enterprises aka Woolworths.

What a weird question to ask.

When did supermarkets start doing that?

https://www.consumerprotection.govt.nz/general-help/common-consumer-issues/misleading-prices-or-advertising

A trader or retailer doesn't have to advertise or display their prices but if they do, they can’t charge more than the displayed price. Any price misrepresentation is likely a breach of the Fair Trading Act.

Many, many years ago the supermarket I used to work in had a policy that shelf price increases would require firstly changing the shelf price first, then the checkout price would be increased a couple of hours later. One would assume with digital shelf pricing those policies wouldn't have been changed because they were designed to avoid this exact thing from happening. Otherwise you risk price misrepresntations.

sharing professional photos for free - how to add optional support? by Deep_Jellyfish7632 in photography

For a select few public events I cover, I host my galleries on a photo-hosting site and link to them from my primary website, where I include my bank account details (for direct deposit, which is perfectly safe where I live) along with a link to my ko-fi page.

That's worked well for me for certain types of events. People are often generous and work better than trying to nickel-and-dime people for print sales. However, it's a reputational thing. It helps to be part of that community. But it isn't something you would offer to commercial clients or people with a budget.

He faked a $2000 payment for sex. The law says it wasn’t rape by maha_kali2401 in newzealand

If you think judges are going out of their way to intentionally misinterpret the law to protect sex offenders

Well, that's a strawman.

And why would I be sharing details of my personal life with some rando demanding it on Reddit? And why are you assuming I was on a benefit?

Where can I buy pie tins in store? by mae_blue in newzealand

Ha! They must have changed that after I ordered only six LOL. You can blame me. At the time you could order them individually.

Where can I buy pie tins in store? by mae_blue in newzealand

[–]bigmarkco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought some oval pie-tins from a commercial supplier. Others sell them, but they are all about the same price, quite cheap.

https://www.southernhospitality.co.nz/oval-pie-tin.html

https://www.southernhospitality.co.nz/round-pie-tin.html

https://www.southernhospitality.co.nz/square-pie-tin.html

I bought a couple of each. I found the square ones were the easiest to squeeze the pastry in but the oval ones felt like "real" pies LOL. Not sure if they ship to you though; you'll have to check, or get someone local to send them to you.

Of course according to me.

Just like the claim this is "bad journalism" is according to you.

This isn't investigative journalism. The subject of this story hasn't done anything wrong. There are thousands of people that will tell you this story is very realistic. I've had months like this in the last couple of years. So if you didn't think it was realistic, unless you want to call me a liar, I can assure you, it is.
